Through my waves in and out of consciousness, I could barely hear the murmurs of others. Barely awake to be fed herbs or food, or being carried through the caves. At night, when everyone was asleep, a certain someone stayed up, lantern by his side, and hummed a tune. It was a beautiful tune, one I had never heard before. Something sweet, and I wish I could have mustered up the strength to ask where he learned it from; but that lullaby soothed me back to sleep. Before I fell back asleep, I used up my energy to move my hand and grasp onto his hand, I wanted to thank him for his song that helped me through my night terrors...

"We finally made it!" Dominick cried out, as I was lagging behind the group, slowly walking after my one day of rest, where I was asleep for 24 hours regaining my strength after a particularly bad episode. Emma was seen at the front of the group with Sonju and Mujika, and Ray stayed behind with me, having to support my weight as I leaned on him. I hadn't eaten much yesterday, and Mujika wanted to not let me eat until later to let the medical herbs she gave me kick in. If I ate and took the herbs, there was a chance I could have thrown it up.

"If you go up to the surface here, you'll be right at the edge of the forest. Let's rest tonight and go above tomorrow morning" Sonju said, the children cheering.

"You sure you'll be fine, (Y/N)?" Ray asked, as I let go of him, my arm around his shoulder to support myself. I nodded and stretched, bones cracking in many places in my body. I still felt a little nauseous, and I was thirsty. My stomach growled as Ray left to go prepare food with the younger kids who were like his assistant in cooking. I sat on the ground with Don and Gilda, Gilda who brushed out my thick hair, using a jug of water to prevent my hair from poofing up.

The fire in my yellow eyes had died out significantly, and I had slept terribly the night before, dreams haunted by nightmares of the past. Ray was there up the night with me, so both our faces had dark eye bags, the children only looked worried for us, but did not inquire. I wanted to ask why he stayed with me, but there wasn't any time to pull him off from the side.

"Thanks for the meal! All right! If everything goes well, we'll be at B06-32 by tomorrow!" Don shouts, as everyone finished their meals, me being done with my second helping after I scarfed down the first without hesitation. I was feeling a lot more energized, and I stretched after eating, my muscles tight and tense. It wasn't a good idea, being so full, but I couldn't allow my figure to slip and fatigue, not in these circumstances. I already lost a lot of my strength so quickly, but I could regain it back just as fast.

"If we work hard." Nat scoffed, crossing his arms at Dons enthusiasm.

"Then we will!" Yvette and Chris cheered, grinning, but then wails of children heard as they huddled by Mujika, holding onto her skirt.

"But it'll be sad to say goodbye to you." Mark said, Jemima refusing to let go of Mujika. It was great to be hospitalized by those two, and learn a lot, but we couldn't cling onto them forever.

"Gilda, what's wrong?" Ray asked, Gilda was seen off to the side and deep in thought. I was with Ray, trying to see how many squats I could do while carrying Thoma and Lanni, but I barely broke out into a sweat before I put them down to see what was worrying the green haired girl.

"I was thinking about the old tale that Sonju told us. It's good that there's a human world separate from here. But to not have a human society in the demon world is a disadvantage to our plan. So the community of humans we were hoping for isn't out there. We can't blend in with them. And we need manpower to come back to get Phil and the others. So we need to think about what we're going to do." Gilda said to Ray, him nodding as me and Emma listened closely. I got up and went to Sonju, curious if there really were no Humans elsewhere out here besides farms.
