I had followed Emma and Mama back into the infirmary, just as Isabella asked me too. There was no use fighting back anymore, not since she took our rope, she's shipping Norman out, Emma broke her leg. Our whole escape was crushed in an instant, a mouse in a trap. I laid myself in the bed next to Emma, mama leaving me with am oxygen mask for a bit til I didn't look so pale, then leaving me and Emma alone, when Norman entered. I got up to leave them alone, Norman opening his mouth to say something to me, as he grabbed my shoulder. I just pushed past and shut the door behind me, heading out to the library.

I headed over to the bathroom first, I couldn't comprehend grief like this again, the same situation, the same death, the same outcome. Everything was the same, someone I loved so dearly, leaving me once again. It seemed like this always had to happen to me, and I couldn't take it anymore. I missed Mama Clementine. I missed Hikaru. The migraines came in waves so violent that I toppled over in front of the bathroom door; I couldn't take a step without the world spinning around me, the floor seemed to be slipping below me. I saw Norman pass by, I knew his mind was filled with other priorities. As he headed to the kitchen, Ray entered, seeing me bent over on the ground. Concerned, he helped me up, and half dragged me back into the infirmary, where he greeted Emma, and placed me back into the bed I was just in. He sucked his teeth at me, and I sensed he looked down at me.

"Stupid for getting out of bed when you clearly aren't okay. No one is. Let's wait for Norman," was all he managed to mutter at me, before going to check up on Emma. I really felt like the odd one out in the situation, everyone was always having to pick up after me when I ended up like this, it would be harder in the outside world when we escape. If we escape.

"We're not going to let you die. Norman. Escape by yourself tomorrow afternoon." Ray told Norman, who I didn't realized entered the room again, him shocked to see me and Ray in here. Normans face looked like he was about to cry, his face was full of fear. But he pushed back the fears and managed to smile at Ray.

"Sorry, I can't do that-" Norman started, but was quickly denied by Ray. The two started quarreling, as I sat up in my bed, making eye contact with Emma, as we were silent; Ray making desperate attempts to keep Norman from leaving. We offered to hide him in the forest, to then take him with us on the day of the escape, but he excused it with tighter security. But if they could have handled me and Sister Krone, other security that has to not affect our comfortability of life here would be easy to remove. Though Sister Krone had left, unneeded, as Mom finally stepped in to kill down any more of our moves and attempts of escaping, even if she called for more people to come here, it would be meaningless.

"What was I working for, for the last six years?" Ray cried out, frustrated in how Norman kept declining all plans. I climbed into the bed of Emma, her moving aside to let me sit next to her. I wanted to feel more included in the conversation, as I felt more like a shadow more than anything. But Emma shot her hand straight up into the air, the wind making my bangs sway slightly from how close she could have hit me.

"Ray and (Y/N) can break a bone! Then when you hide, no one else of high scores can get shipped out!" Emma smiled, a gleam of hope shining in her eyes.

"Emma, what are you saying?" Norman asked, moving closer to her from the side of the bed, as I pondered. It wasn't a bad idea, but it was stupid.

"You know, since I'm hurt so badly, I don't think I'd get shipped out in your place. Remember what the demons said at the gate? We're high-grade merchandise, and also special. When we go out, we have to be in perfect form. So if someone were to take your place, it'd be Ray. (Y/N) is also high-grade, but since she's younger it's a lower chance; but we can't risk it. That's why if either one of them were badly hurt as well, they wouldn't get shipped out immediately." And Emmas explanation started to make sense. It was stupid, reckless, risky. But it lightened the mood, as Ray let out a laugh I've never heard from him before.
