Chuuya and Dazai laid unconscious in the tub of Dazai apartment their arms wrapped around one another, as if protecting eachother.
Dazai bandages were thrown into the bathroom trash can, while Chuuya hat sat nicely on the bathroom sink accompanied by a empty wine bottle and two wine glasses.
On the tub side was two needle, which they assumed without the use of Ranpo ability was how they had taken their lives.
Atsushi was the poor soul who had found the duo. While Atsushi was crying outside Kunikida was trying to find what drew them both to following this fate, as this isn't something Chuuya would do, and Dazai would rather live than do a double suicide with Chuuya, he said it himself.
As he was searching the apartment, Yosano whom was trying to keep her composure and not have a crying session till afterwards was calling 911, Fukuzawa and Ranpo who she assumes will most likely also inform Mori of the situation.
As the police and ambulance showed up to question them and make sure that in fact the two were dead, Fukuzawa and Mori showed up.
They acknowledge eachother with a simple nod before walking off with an officer to be questioned about how the two had been acting the last couple of days.
As the paramedics tried to remove the two from the tub the had found that the two had such a grip on one another that they couldn't separate them from eachother. Eventually they got them out of the tub and sent off still in eachothers arms.

They had a lovely burial for the two, laying side-by-side as thry had been for so many years, and how they would spend the rest of their time together, holding eachother and watching out for one another.
It was a sad ending, but it was a better outcome then some of the other ways these two, with their unspoken love, could have come to an end.
