Chuuya sat down on her bed, which was littered with stuffed dogs, each one unique and special in its own way. She grabbed one and held it close.
Bored. The thought wasn't new—she had been bored for a long while. She powered on the TV and Xbox in her room. She wasn't in the mood for a show, so she decided to try and find a new game. After a while of scrolling, she decided she'd try Fortnite. Yes, she'd heard bad things about it, but the same had been said about Stranger Things, and she'd ended up thoroughly enjoying that show. She was even looking forward to the new season. She hit "download" and began to wait. After a while, she sighed in annoyance.
"Man, I really need a new fucking Xbox."
Eventually, the game finished downloading—it felt like it had taken an eternity. She browsed through the games the platform offered; it was kind of like Roblox in its own way. The ginger decided on a game called Murder Mystery. She loaded in and noticed her skin for the first time. She didn't like it, but oh well.
She ran around the map a bit, getting a feel for the controls and movements. The game went on—it was surprisingly entertaining.Soon she started playing more often, specifically Murder Mystery. She tried other games with the friends she met online, but didn't care for them much.
A few months passed. She had bought Gojo in a desperate attempt to get a better-looking skin. She spent most of her time alone, as all her friends were either busy or drifting away. She hadn't expected much to change.
But one day, just before logging off for the night, she met someone wearing a Deku skin. They met while silently watching an online couple have a dramatic breakup—sad, she guessed.
It was fun; they hung out afterwards. Nakahara didn't want to give her phone number to a stranger, so she gave the person her Discord instead.
From then on, almost every single night without much fail, she spent her evenings with this person she soon learned was named Dazai. Dazai was funny—annoying, but funny. Chuuya found herself looking forward to their nights together. It was strange; it left an odd feeling in her chest.
One day they decided to do a face reveal, and God—the girl was stunning. Her chocolate-brown hair and matching eyes made her look like an angel.
Soon, Chuuya realized she was in love, and she made it everyone's problem. Her best friend? He had to deal with it. Her newest friend? His issue now. Her friend from school? She was rooting for them, hoping Chuuya would finally stop pathetically pining after her.Eventually, Chuuya confessed. It took two days of not-so-subtle hints, but they finally got together. And God, Chuuya was smitten.
They were very long-distance, but she and her girlfriend were thrilled to tell each other how much they loved one another. Chuuya couldn't wait for the day she'd finally get to kiss her woman.
