3| Moving in

Y/n POV

We managed to get everyone over here. With no complaints actually. There were a lot of walkers surrounded around the fence.

Ricks idea was to cut a hole in the fence so he was able to get it and get the rest of us in. There weren't a lot of walkers down in the yard and we could easily be able to knock them down.

Everyone has this fire under their ass because we could finally have some place to stay. Rick got it open and everyone was able to climb in. We would have to patch that up later, way better. But for no we just took cord and tried it around to keep the gate shut.

We were in a little fence in area before we were able to get into the prison. It felt nice and safe. The walkers crowed around the fence when they saw us. As soon as Glenn patched it up we hurried down the gated pathway.

We didn't worry about the walkers that clung to the fence. We continued to to run as quickly as we could to make it to the entrance of the prison.

We made and it and set down all of our stuff. I was sweaty and out of breath and pissed off. I wish there was such an easier way to get inside this dump hole.

"It's perfect" Rick said as he looked around. We haven't even got in and the fucker is head over heels. "If we can shut that gate, prevent more from filling the yard, we can pick off these walkers. We'll take the field by tonight." Rick said, I nodded at his words.

"So how do we shut the gate?" Herhsel asked as he looked up ahead.

"I'll do it. You guys cover me" Glenn said. I looked at him like his crazy. Why can't Lori do it? I don't mind loosing her .

"No. It's a suicide run." I told him as I looked at him.

"I'm the fastest" He said as he looked at us.

"You don't have much competition" I told him as I looked around to most of our group.

"No, Glenn, Maggie, and Beth draw as many as you can over there. Pop them through the fence. Daryl, go back to the other tower. Carol, you've gotten a pretty good shot. Take your time. We don't have a lot of ammo to waste. Herhsel, you and Carl take this tower." Rick said as he gave everyone else instructions. They all ran off as they were old what to do. He looked at me, and he saw the look I had in my eyes. "Y/n" he said sternly.

"No. I'm going for the gate. I was first in my track meet" I said trying not to toot my own horn.

"Really?" He asked kind of shocked to learn about a new fact.

"Yeah when I was 5. Doesn't matter. I'm doing this" I said as I stood my ground.

"Y/n, it's to dangerous" He said as he tried to reason with me.

"Yeah? So it's okay for you to do it. Rick, let me do this" I told him as I stood my ground.

"Fine, but I'm going with you" He said as he finally gave in to me. I gave him a little smile.

As everyone else was doing their job they didn't notice I was with Rick. Lori opened up the gate and she gave us a little nodd. I nodded my head back at her trying to keep some peace.

She opened up the gate and Rick and I went through. Their was a car in front of the gate that blocked off any sort of noise coming to us. Glenn and the others did a great job of distracting them.

I followed Ricks lead and I held out my katana as I ran up the the gate. I took down any walkers that came towards me.

A walker came close to me and I kicked him in the leg and sliced the Walker in the head. (Umm Clem from the walking dead game 🤪)

I looked over and saw Glenn and form the looks of it he didn't seem to happy. But I was tired of sitting around counting fucking daises. I wanted to get some adrenaline pumping through my viens. Soemrhing to fucking do.

We heard gunshots around us as Daryl and Carol got the walkers around us. I nodded my head at Daryl who got the Walker in front of me. Carol ended up shorting the ground right before Rick.

"Sorry!" She called out from the tower. Herhsel and Carl were doing great as well as it was nice to keep the walkers that we saw around that it was hard for us to take down on our own.

I took off and ran towards the gate. I didn't have time to sit around as more workers came through. I kicked off the Walker the was coming through and grabbed the gate. I shoved it closed. And set up a magnet lock (whatever it's called) to keep it closed together. I turned around and picked up my sword to get back to work.

I took down any of the walkers that were near me. Same with Rick. We stood side by side grabbing any of the walkers we could while the others helped us. I didn't want to get close and accidentally get shot by fucking Carol.

Glenn and the rest kept the walkers down on the ground level distracted as we got the few many that were up around us. As I covered Rick he went into the room that operated the gate. I continued to get the walkers as I kept Rick safe. As he killed the Walker inside he open the door for me to get it.

It was a nice way of finally blowing off any steam I had. "Light it up!" I heard Daryl yell. As I looked outside and the rest of the walkers fell to the ground.

I turned around and gave Rick a right hug. "We fucking did it!" I said with a smile as I let him go. He let out a small laugh at my little outburst.
