Y/n POV

We continued to navigate through the dark and narrow hallways. Walking over dead walkers and trying our best to make it back to the others. We were slowly running out of time.

I started to think, 'Maybe I cut too far?' I brushed the thought off. He is fine. I know Hershel will make it through this. I let out a small sigh and wiped the sweat off my forehead.

We heard hushed voices. We turned around and saw the shadows of the prisoners following us. Fuck. Why is this getting even worse?

Daryl forced us farther to get away from them. We hurried up our pace to get through the hallways. Daryl unlocked the door with Ricks keys.

"Easy, easy" I muttered as I helped take Hershel in carefully.

"Open the door! It's Herhsel!" Rick shouted for Carol or Lori inside to open the door.

"Oh my god!" Carol gasped out as Carl opened the door. We pushed Hershel in as fast as possible.

"Daddy!" Beth reached out.

"Go, go, go" Glenn rushed us as we made it into the cell block

"Turn it" I said as I started to Turn the table so we could fit it into a cell block.

"Get him on the bed" Rick said as Glenn and Rick put him down on the bed. I put my hair up with a hair tie on my wrist and took a deep breath before I got to work.

"He got bit" I heard Daryl say to the others who were in the blue about this whole situation.

"Oh, my god, he's gonna turn" Beth sobbed, I shut my eyes as I tried not to listen to her.

"Did you cut it off?" Lori asked as she looked at Rick. Of course she thought Rick did it.

"Yeah, Y/n did" Rick said as they contained to try their best to get Hershel over safely.

"Maybe you got it in time" Lori said, I cringed at her words.

"Don't say that. I did" I said as I felt a surge of confidence.

"Ready?" Rick asked Glenn.

"Yeah" Glenn nodded as with many people's help they were able to put Hershel on the bed.

"I need bandages!" I said as I took off the towel that we had on Hershel's leg. It squirted out and I closed it back up.

"We used everything we had" Glenn said, I felt Carol sit down next to me and I felt more calmer.

"Well, get more. Anything" I huffed our starting to feel stressed.

"Carl, go get the towels from the back, right next to me bed" Lori instructed Carl. I nodded my head at someone who was trying to help.

"Is he gonna die?" I heard Beth say.

"No, no, no, no" Lori said trying her best to calm Beth down.

"You think you can stabilize him?" Rick asked me as he rocked back and forth. He was definitely out of it more than I was.

"I need to keep his leg elevated. Get some pillows!" I said as I heard someone go run off. I kept pressure on Hershel's open wound in hope no more blood will come out.

"He's already bled through the sheets." Maggie said, pointing out the obvious was not helping.

"We can burn the wound to clot the blood. I can start a fire." Glenn offered.

"No, please don't do this" Beth said as she sobbed in the back corner.

"No, the shock could kill him" I said as I thought about everything I leaned for the two years I was in med school. They never mentioned anything about getting bit by a Walker. "It's not gonna stop the series from bleeding." I said as Carol started to place pillows under his leg. "We need to just keep it dressed and let it heal on its own." I muttered out as I wrapped more towels around his leg.

I looked around and I saw Glenn check his pulse. I looked up at him and he nodded.

"He is still good" Glenn muttered out. I nodded my head and wrapped up his leg and made sure no more blood will pour out.

"What's going on?" I heard Rick muttered at the sudden noise that was coming from the other room. The inmates.

"What was that?" Carl asked as he looked at his father.

"Prisoners, survivors" Rick said as he looked down at me. He needed my help. I looked over at Carl. She had the same amount as experience I had.

"You got this?" I asked her. She nodded her head and we switched spots.

"It's all right. Everybody stay put. Y/n, let's go" Rick said as he grabbed my arm and pulled me up with him. Glenn came with us.

"Do not leave his side" I said to Glenn as I grabbed his face to make him look at me. "If he dies, you need to be there for that. You think you can do it?" I asked him. He looked down then at me.

"I got it" Glenn said as he nodded his head. I kissed him before I let him go.

I ran after Rick and I felt Carl close the door after me. The noise was loud and it sounded like they were arguing.

"There ain't nothing for you here. Why don't you go back to your own sandbox?" Daryl growled at them men. When I came up T-Dog and Daryl had their guns up at the men.

There was 5 of the inmates. And it seemed like a western standoff. There was no way we could settle them down but we had to do the best we could for the rest our group. We didn't know these people and we had to protect our group. They were inmates for a resodn and they was probably no way for them to come back from what they had done. Why does this shit always have to happen to us?
