8. what does he want to eat ?

" So what do you want to eat?" Avni asks Neil.

It is 2 am at this time, both of them were going to sleep after their whole conversation then suddenly Avni remembers that he did not answer her question whether he had had his dinner or not, So she asks again and as he is unable to lie, he starts faltering in answering and Avni understands that he has not had dinner

So she tells him to let's have dinner to which he straight away refuses but then Avni tells him that it is not good to sleep on an empty stomach and then she insists a little more, to which he has to give in and then she pulls him out to the dinner area where she says that she heats the food and serves it to him but Neil says that he does not want to eat the food that is already cooked, on which Avni first gives him a look but then thinks that it is okay, she quickly makes something for him.

And that is why now both of them are standing in the kitchen and Avni asks him what he wants to eat.

" Anything....I like everything." Neil replies to which Avni looks at him

" Still, is there anything special you would like to eat?" she asks again to which Neil smiles slightly.

" If you really want to make something I like, then I like bhindi the most..." he says

" Okay, then you chop the bhindi." On hearing her words Neil mouth opens, he chop it? That is why she asked this.

" Why are you making such a face.... You do half the work...I will do the other half... You chop the bhindi ( ladyfinger ) Till then I will prepare aalu-puri for you...Do you like it?" she says because at this time she cannot make anything better, so she thinks of preparing bhindi and aloo puri which will be made quickly and easily

" Puri? I don't eat oily food?" he says

"You just said you like everything then why these tantrums....?" She says on which he sees her and she speaks further without giving him any chance to speak

" You will not become fat by eating it for one day, I am telling you the truth, it tastes very delicious, try it today..." She says on which he is unable to say anything, she is also right he will not become fat by eating one day

" Okay, make whatever you want." He says and with this both of them start their work.

Neil cuts bhindi and Avni makes dough for puri.
As soon as this work is done, she puts two pans on the stove, in one she cooks bhindi and in the other she makes puri...Neil tries to help her in rolling the puri but Avni can't control her laughter at the design of his rolled out puris, to which Neil pouts...huh at least he tried.

" Don't laugh like that, at least I tried..." says Neil to which Avni suppresses her laughter and then praises him.

Looking at both of them, it did not seem that they were talking so comfortably for the first time.
Seeing both of them together, it seems as if both of them are a comfortable and happy couple.

But right there all this between them sees someone and it is none other than Shweta....because there was no water in the room so Shweta comes to the kitchen to get water but when she sees them both, she stops and hides so that she doesn't ruin their moment.

But at the same time, Shweta is happy to see Avni cooking food for Neil but at the same time she also gets a little sad remembering Neil's words when she asked him to have dinner and he refused, saying that he doesn't need her care and that she doesn't need to stay up late for him.

Shweta then returns to her room without disturbing them and unknowingly tears roll down her eyes which she wipes in the darkness of her room.

Here in the kitchen,

Avni serves food to Neil on a small dining table in the kitchen instead of going to the dining table outside and sits opposite him.

" You won't eat it?" asks Neil when he sees that she has served it only to him.

" You were hungry, not me. I slept after dinner so I am not hungry..." she replies

" Still, eat just a little....I feel weird eating alone..." He says this to which Avni looks at him and thinks that yes this is a normal feeling... it feels weird to eat alone in front of someone sitting in front of you

" Okay, I'll take my plate." Saying this she is about to get up but Neil holds her wrist and stops her from getting up.

" Eat from my plate." She gives him a look at his words

" Don't you think you're getting too comfortable in just a few hours?" She says raising her eyebrows slightly

" So what is wrong in this? People say that eating together increases love...we have become friends today...our friendship will grow by this..." Saying this he makes a bite and places it straight in front of her mouth expecting her to eat it from his hand.

Avni looks at him and then at the morsel....is this man really so sweet...? Why is she melting in front of him in just a few hours of sweetness and Avni sees how he licks his finger after feeding her, pretending to lick the bhindi masala applied there.

And then both of them finish their meal with light conversation and then Neil gets suprised when she serves him sweet which is Rasmalai.
The same one that DD told him he ate today

" I made this today and I don't know why but I saved it for you, Although you come home late, I thought if you come home on time today, I will serve you this at dinner but....

" You don't need to explain so much but can I ask you a question...?" When he asks her this, she nods her head in affirmative.

" Is me namak toh nahi hoga aaj ?"She smiles slightly at his words

" bahut jyada namak daala hai.....taste it and tell me how it is?" she says to which he smiles and then takes a bite and looks at her with wide eyes

" This is delicious." he says to which Avni raises her imaginary collar

" I know, after all Chef Avni has made it." she says, raising up her imaginary collar

" Halwaai Avni ne..." He says teasingly to which she gives him a look.

Both return to the room and before going to sleep Neil takes his medicines as usual from the side drawer which Avni has been noticing since the early days of their marriage

And today after their conversation gives her some courage to ask him if he is alright, what medicine he takes so regularly.

She lies on her side, the only difference is that today she lies facing him instead of showing her back to him...Neil too after taking the medicine lies down facing her and both of them give a light smile looking at each other

And before he says good night to her, Avni says.

"Can I ask you something?" she says

"Yes" says Neil

" What happened to you? Are you okay?" She asks

"Yes I am fine, why?" He says

" If you are fine then what medicine do you always take...." He gets a little nervous on her question but without showing it he says

" It's just like that...I had trouble sleeping so taking it made me sleep better," he says

" But it can be harmful to your health." She says

" No, these are not sleeping pills...and I take them to keep myself healthy, they are not harmful, And look, now sleep.
it's already three o'clock." he says so that she doesn't ask him any further questions about his medicine and health

" Good night." He says

" Good night." She says

" Today we are wishing each other this for the first time..." she adds

" And now we will always do this." He says and with this both of them close their eyes and they do not know when sleep takes them in its embrace.
