34. Union of souls.

It is night time.

Neil, who always has a spare key to the house, returns home from work at around 9 p.m. and instead of ringing the doorbell, he opens the door himself with spare key.

Well, he is still sad that after his confession, even though he did it in a drunken state, Avni now knows everything about his feelings but she is not saying anything to him and moreover after his confession last night, she is not even talking to him properly since this morning.
Is she not happy with this?

She did not wait for him even after breakfast in the morning and went out of the house saying she had some work, after which he also went to the court and after that they did not talk for the whole day, which is a new thing today, Because Avni used to call him every day at lunch time to remind him to have lunch, so sometime she called just like that, but today she did not do anything like that.
And that is why he is sad.

He opens the door and as he enters and takes a few steps into the hall his eyes search for Avni, he knows she is at home and after taking a few more steps like this he sees that she is setting their dinner table...bringing things from the kitchen and placing them on the dining table.

He looks at her like that but what he notices is that today she is wearing a saree of light purple colour with some silver work on it, Her hair is open, she has put small earrings in her ears and the mangalsutra of his name around her neck is adding to her beauty.
And on top of all this, she has put a small bindi on her forehead, Well she hasn't done much but even in this simple look she looks very beautiful and he cannot take his eyes off her.

After their marriage, he has seen her in saree only once or twice, that is why seeing her like this today, he also wonders why is she wearing this saree today?

Every day she wears casual clothes and at night she mostly wears a T-shirt and trousers...Is there some festival today that he doesn't know about, he thinks.

And there he is standing at one place and thinking all these things looking at her, and there, Avni feels his presence and looks towards him.

" Oh, you're home." Her words bring him out of his thoughts and he sees her who's coming towards him after saying this.

" How was your day?" she asks to which he looks at her.

" Again the same responsibility of being just a wife." he thinks looking at her

" I asked you something?" Seeing him silent she speaks again to which he does not say anything and seeing him silent like this she thinks something

" Are you okay?" she asks, which again seems like a formality to him, because if she really cared about him she wouldn't have waited for the whole day to pass to ask this question

Well he knows that she cares for him and she always takes care of him, when he comes back home she asks him all these questions about his day but today it all seemed like a formality, which he had never felt before. He thought that she too loved him and that is why she does all this for him but her silence over his confession disappointed him and forced him to think about all this.

" Yes, I am fine." Answering her question he does nothing further but goes upstairs to the room.

And here Avni's face turns a little pale after seeing his behavior because she wore this saree for him, maybe he didn't even notice that she was wearing a saree and went away like that without saying anything.

Ok, she did trouble him a bit today, she admits, but what kind of a behavior was this of his, that he came home with such a rotten face, didn't even give a smile.
