23. Avni's past

A few days ago.

After that night when Avni shared some of her thoughts with Neil about why she was unhappy with their marriage, and how her parents treated her and everything....since then Neil was constantly trying to know more about her but he was not able to understand what could be the reason of Avni's parents to treat her like that, because no matter how incapable your child is, there are certain things in which parents support their children, especially to their girl child. In which situation they did not support Avni, did not understand her and disappointed her with their bad words, they are really condemnable.

And battling with these thoughts, Neil was trying to find out about her in some way or the other but he was not getting success but in the middle of all this, Neil noticed one more thing, that Avni is not talking to her brother, often when both of them were together in the room, Abhinav's call would come on Avni's phone, but Avni would never receive it.
And this was the time when Avni was angry with Abhinav and perhaps was so guilty about her behavior that she was unable to talk to her brother even if she wanted to.

Neil gets more confused by Avni's behavior because as far as he knew, Avni was close to her brother, she herself told him then what is the reason that Avni is not even talking to him.

And seeing her brother's continuous calls day after day, Neil gets an idea that why not ask her brother who is close to her about Avni.

And with this thought in mind, one day Neil goes to Abhinav's police station to meet him and talk to him....Abhinav is definitely shocked by Neil's sudden visits but then he asks him to sit in his cabin and both of them talk, and Neil without much ado comes to the topic of Avni and Abhinav is shocked as to why Neil suddenly wants to know Avni's past.

" Look, I have my own ways of knowing about Avni but still I am asking you....Tell me what is the reason behind this behaviour of her parents towards her...Because from what I know no parents treat their daughter like this...and why only Avni....They never mistreated your other sister, And I'm sorry to say this, but your other sister is probably even more incompetent than Avni...then why Avni who at least is standing on her own feet compared to your other sister ?"

On this question of Neil, Abhinav looks at him silently, he knows the reason but will it be right for him to share that reason with Neil? This truth might change Avni's life...where she is currently unhappy just because her parents don't love her but why doesn't they love her, she might get shattered knowing the reason.

And Neil sighs seeing Abhinav silent.

" Look, I am saying it again, there is no use in keeping quiet....you know me, if I want to find out something, I do it....So it will be better if you tell me yourself about this family matter..." Neil asks him while insisting more

And Abhinav knows that he will do what Neil is saying, if he wants to know about Avni then he will know it no matter what he has to do but how can he tell all those things which he knows, because he doesn't know how Neil will look at Avni after this and...

" I am asking for the last time, what is the reason?" Neil asks Abhinav again and Abhinav, battling with his internal thoughts, finally decides that whatever the case may be, he should probably tell Neil everything himself, otherwise if he gets to know about it from somewhere else then maybe that too will not be good.

" The reason is that Avni is not my biological sister." Abhinav gathers courage to say all this, upon which Neil's eyes widen.

" She is my father's daughter but not my mother's..." Abhinav says further
