Colton

On Tuesday, I was in my LA office to meet a big client and see how things were going. Gerald came with me to get a feel for his new job and the people. Work got crazy busy with my outstanding team of senior accountants who handle the consultancy business for me.

7pm, time to chill and unwind. Me, Gerald, and my bodyguard, Chad, had dinner at a nearby restaurant. We grubbed on some pizza, salad, chicken, and beer.

"Did you say Luna?" I asked Gerald.

"Huh?" He frowned. "I didn't mention Luna."

"Oh. I thought you said her name."

"He was talking about tuna, not Luna. We got the tuna Caesar salad, boss." Chad clarified.

Gerald found it funny. "You're still thinking about Luna, huh? And your plan didn't work."

"Come on. I just misheard you."

"Is that so? Why do you keep denying that you have feelings for her? It's like watching a dog try to hide a bone where everyone can see it."

"I'm not denying anything. Yeah, she's really hot and I can't help but have a little crush on her. And that's all. I've mentioned it a million times. I don't have feelings for her. It's all about physical attraction."

"That's not true." Chad said. "No joke, boss. You turn into a heart-eyed emoji whenever she's around."

"Right?" Gerald laughed even louder. "It's like you're always saying 'I don't have feelings for her,' but she's always on your mind."

"Alright." I squeezed my lips tightly, then said. "I have these weird feelings for her, and it's bugging me. One thing, she's got a ring on her finger. Also, we were enemies. Plus, it's gonna be super awkward. Our siblings got married and now everyone thinks we're family."

"That's not true. I'm sure they'll be super thrilled when you two hang out." Gerald said.

I gave a little shake of my head.

"If I can't live up to their high expectations, I'm screwed - everyone will hate me. I don't wanna ruin things with the Stavrakos, you know what I mean? I'm cool with being unattached and single. Luna and I are better off staying friends or enemies. Plus, I'm still working towards my goals."

"You've done more than enough. You helped too many people in Dansville and made them happy. It's time to focus on yourself."

"Her chocolate cakes are to die for." Chad reminded me I said it was the best, and I smirked.

"She's stuck in your head." Gerald chuckled. "You should totally charm her. It might be the way to break her engagement with Cox."

"Nope, I wouldn't do that." I shook my head. "Enough about her. Let's get out of here."

I came home and just hung out in the living room. Yeah, they were right. Luna was all I could think about. I didn't understand why I really missed her? Her lovely face, cute smile that gives her little dimples, the way she talks, her gestures, and how she looked at me.

I flew to LA immediately because of that reason. Seeing her frequently made me develop feelings, so I distanced myself. Staying away would give me space to think clearly. But it was a total failure. My thoughts of her grew stronger.

I took action. I must forget Luna. Perhaps being with another girl would help me get over my longing and wanting to be with her.

I scanned my contacts on my phone. When I found the person I was looking for, I pressed the number.

It was almost midnight when I parked my car outside an apartment. The door opened when I rang the doorbell once.
