I felt amazing after soaking in the tub. Colton was absolutely right. The Epsom salt really helped my achy muscles. I quickly changed into gray PJs and brushed my hair. Just as I was ready to hop on the bed, there was a knock on the door.
"Come in!" I yelled, and the door opened. I was expecting Colton, but then an older lady walked in, carrying a tray with a cup and saucer.
"Good evening, ma'am. I'm Miriam. I'm taking care of this beach house. Mr. Treble thinks you should give this chamomile tea a try for a good night's sleep."
"Hello Miriam. I'm definitely up for a tea. Thank you." I said, and she put the tray on top of the coffee table by the enormous glass windows.
"Want any biscuits or sandwiches with your tea? How about a cheese platter?"
"No, I'm still full. Colton and I ate so much pizza on our way here." I smiled at her, then asked before she could leave. "Has Colton already gone to his room?"
"He already left, ma'am."
"Where did he go?" My eyebrows shot up.
"To his place. He's got a big house in the middle of town where his family also stays."
"I see." I suddenly wished he hadn't left.
Miriam must have seen my disappointment, cause she said. "Don't worry, he'll be back tomorrow."
"Of course he will." I nodded and gave her a smile.
"By the way, your bodyguards are with Mr. Treble's security team, ma'am. Mr. Treble said to give them food and a place to stay in the guards' quarter."
"Colton is being really nice."
"Absolutely. Everyone knows Mr. Treble is a really kind and generous person. He did a ton for the community, not only creating jobs but also helping with education, medical expenses, and stuff like that. My family and relatives were lucky enough to benefit from his kindness."
"Yeah, I heard about his good deeds and I got to say, I'm pretty impressed."
"I bet you do." She smiled, her eyes teasing. "You're super lucky, you know. Your boyfriend is super nice, generous, and good-looking."
"Oh, you mean..." I shook my head and chuckled. "No. Colton is not my boyfriend."
"You're not?" Her face went all red. She looked so embarrassed. "My bad. I thought you were his girlfriend. He's never had a lady with him here before, you know."
"Oh, really?"
Well, that was unexpected. He was, like, a total heartthrob in college, being the basketball MVP and all. He had girls flocking to him. I had a feeling he hooked up with a bunch of girls already.
"His visitors are always his family." She continued. "His sister, Madam Sweet, and her family frequently visit here. Her husband and kids love the beach. They stay in this room as well."
"Yeah, I figured it out when I saw the coloring books. By the way, Sweet is my sister-in-law. She married my brother."
Her eyes got huge. "Oh, so you're Sir Sebastian's sister! I'm glad I finally meet you, Miss Stavrakos."
"Me too, Miriam."
She had a big grin, then said. "Time for me to go, so you can relax, ma'am. If you need me, I'll be in the servant's quarter. Just hit the intercom to get a hold of me."
"Okay. Goodnight."
She left, and I was alone in the room again. I looked at the books Erin got me. I found a vampire novel I liked and put it on the bedside table with my cup of tea. I was reading the first chapter when my phone beeped, interrupting me. It was Barry.
