[Abuela leads the way into her room, closing the door behind them. As they make their way over to the bed, she speaks softly.]
Abuela: These last few days have been hard for you, haven't they?
[Meribel nods, her composure slipping slightly as she tries to hold back her emotions.]
[They sit down on the bed together, and Abuela lets out a sigh as she reflects on her own past experiences.]
Abuela: When Abuelo died... it happened so fast, right in front of me. I never had time like this to say goodbye, to make peace with it.
[Meribel's hands shake slightly, a lump forming in her throat as she listens to her grandmother.]
[Abuela reaches out and gently removes Meribel's glasses before continuing.]
Abuela: After it happened, suddenly, I had an entire community to take care of, and my three babies... all on my own. I never had time to think about what happened, to just be sad. I had to be strong for everyone else.
[She looks at Meribel with understanding, sensing the weight of her words on her granddaughter.]
Abuela: I feel you know what that feels like, mija.
[Meribel struggles to hold back tears, her emotions threatening to overwhelm her. Abuela reaches out and rubs her cheek gently, her voice filled with compassion.]
Abuela: It's okay, mija.
[With those comforting words, Meribel's facade finally crumbles, and she breaks down into soft sobs. Abuela pulls her granddaughter close, offering her comfort and support in her time of need.]
