"You're rushing things Gyu, calm down a bit okay?" Soobin says as he serves the black hair boy some hot chocolate.

"He has a boyfriend hyung, of course he wouldn't believe me." Beomgyu says after taking a sip of his drink.

"I know. Yeonjun told me about him."

Beomgyu sits up. "How does Yeonjun-hyung know about Taehyun?" he asks.

"They apparently live in the same apartment complex and on the same floor. Neighbours."

"Surprise. Surprise."

The next day, as usual, Beomgyu walks to his locker but this time, a girl loops her hand around Beomgyu's arm causing him to stop.

"Chaeryoung, hi!" Beomgyu greets the girl.

"Hi to you too." Chaeryoung smiles.

The brunette girl was one of the prettiest girls in the academy, and was also Beomgyu's ex-girlfriend who seemed to not have moved on yet. But, since they're in the same year, and are in the same class, they've been good friends despite having to break up.

"Is there anything you need?" Beomgyu asks.

"I was just wondering if you have time after school? Just wanted to chat up a bit."

"Sure. At the-" Beomgyu looks over at the staircase when he spots Taehyun walking up the flight of stairs with earphones on.

"I'll let you know soon. Please excuse me." Beomgyu releases his arm from Chaeryoung's grip, and dashes off to the staircase, leaving a clueless girl near the lockers.

"Taehyun!" Beomgyu calls out as he grabs the latter's wrist.

Taehyun jolts in shock which causes him to miss his step and slip. Luckily, Beomgyu catches him from behind as the latter's back hits Beomgyu's chest and he grabs the latter by the waist.

"Holy shit! I'm so sorry." Beomgyu apologizes.

"I just saw my life flash before my eyes." Taehyun glances at Beomgyu's hand which was still gripping both sides of his waist. "You can let go of me."

Beomgyu, realizing the situation, immediately let's go of Taehyun and the latter regains his stepping.

"To what pleasure do I owe you to have me almost falling to my death on this splendid day?" Taehyun asks sarcastically.

Beomgyu chuckles. "It was my reflexes that made me chase after you. After all, I now have the responsibility to look after my soulmate."

Taehyun stares at the black hair boy for a while before scratching the back of his head and sighing. "Beomgyu, I-"

"You're not my soulmate. Yeah, I get it. Well, you're still 17, of course you wouldn't believe it. You think I knew you before this? Not really, but this 'switch' led me to you."

"True. I'm 17, and I don't know who my soulmate is but I already have my hopes up for someone else to be my them-"

"Who? Your boyfriend?" Saying those words felt like a stab in the heart for Beomgyu.

"I don't know what to tell you. I can only apologize. Heck, I don't even know you."

Beomgyu takes a step up the stair, standing closer to Taehyun and he pulls out a hand towards the red hair. "You're right. I didn't introduce myself properly. Name's Choi Beomgyu, 18, from Daegu, this academy's golden boy, extremely handsome. I'm in my final year here. I stay in an apartment with my best friend and my favourite go-to place is the Crown Bakery, where you work, but seems like it's the first time I've seen you there after going countless times."
