"Does he know?" Soobin asks Beomgyu as he pours the coffee into their mugs.
"About what?" Beomgyu asks back, taking a sip from his mug.
"The arranged marriage."
Beomgyu places his mug on the table. He didn't think about it all. He's been so happy and occupied with Taehyun by his side, his worries hadn't been a bother to him at all. They've been dating for about two weeks now and they're both happy, but Soobin had to remind Beomgyu about it. Remind him that their one month is about to end and Beomgyu would be engaged. Also, remind him that he must tell Taehyun soon so that Taehyun wouldn't catch feelings for the older. (lol too late)
"I feel like it's too early to tell him."
"Beomgyu, you have another two weeks to tell him. It's clear that the two of you have feelings for each other."
"I don't want to hurt him."
"You'll hurt him more if he finds out from someone who's not you."
"I trust Taehyun. And he trusts me-"
"You're slowly breaking that trust, Beomgyu."
"It'll work out. But, not now."
"What's the use of a relationship if you don't have trust?"
That's when it hit Beomgyu. Just hearing those words felt like stab in the back. But, Soobin has a point. If he doesn't tell Taehyun soon, he's slowly breaking the trust that they've built since they first met. Imagining himself break Taehyun's trust is a lot more painful then the thought of him about to leave him in two weeks.
But, he's afraid to tell Taehyun because they're both so happy, he didn't want to ruin any moment and taint it with sadness.
Beomgyu receives a message from Chaeryoung asking to meet up to talk about the engagement. Beomgyu texts back, asking her to meet at the park, if they meet up at the bakery, the chances of Taehyun being there are big since Taehyun sometimes offer to work during the weekends for extra income.
The two meet up at the park and they sit at a bench with a distance between them. Beomgyu texts Taehyun while waiting for Chaeryoung to talk. He smiles at every message Taehyun sends him because knowing Taehyun, the younger always had a cheeky or savage way to reply but, he's just lovable and cute in reality.
"Beomgyu-" Chaeryoung calls out.
"Well, finally you started to talk." Beomgyu says, sarcastically.
"Well, I had to wait for you to stop texting your boyfriend."
Beomgyu tilts his head. "How do you know?"
Chaeryoung shrugs her shoulder. "Don't worry, I didn't tell anyone. Not Kai, not even our parents."
"Thank you." Beomgyu felt relieved.
"I'm not sure what you're planning but you do know you can't keep on dating him after we're engaged, right? Does he know?"
Beomgyu shook his head. "No."
"You can't hide it." Chaeryoung says. She turns her body towards Beomgyu's direction but Beomgyu just keeps on staring at his fingers.
"You have to tell him." Chaeryoung says.
"I know."
"And soon. If Taehyun knew about the engagement from someone else that isn't you, can you imagine the pain he'll have to deal?"
"What about me? I'm in pain the most right now."
"Are you hearing yourself right now? You two are a couple-" Chaeryoung sighs and facepalms herself. "I can't believe I'm even helping you with this. You two are each other's comfort zone."
"I just can't bring myself to tell him. Every time I'm with him, it's perfect. I'm afraid that I'd ruin every moment we're together."
Chaeryoung stands up and grabs her hand bag. "You have to tell him. If you don't, don't say I didn't try to warn you."
Beomgyu nods and Chaeryoung leaves the park, leaving the boy with deep thoughts.
Beomgyu gets back to the apartment and he's greeted with a delicious aroma and finds Soobin cooking in the kitchen.
"You're back early." Soobin says.
"Yeah. I'll be in my room."
Before Beomgyu could reach his room, he feels numb in the legs and he collapses. Eventually the numbness rises to his upper body. Soobin immediately drops the cutleries and rushes over to Beomgyu.
"Shit, are you okay?" Soobin asks.
"I think it's the 'switch'. Don't worry." Soobin helps the latter up onto the couch. Soobin knew how it felt like to experience the 'switch' the first few months but it'll get better. It's just a phase.
Beomgyu lies down on the couch with his arm covering his eyes, shielding from the living room lights. Although he feels numb, he feels happy, because he'll get to see Taehyun's vision. His soulmate. After a while, the numbness is gone but Beomgyu immediately realizes something;
The 'switch' didn't happen.
"Are you okay?" Soobin asks, bringing Beomgyu a glass of tea. "Was it the 'switch'?" he asks.
Beomgyu shook his head. "I don't think so. Do you experience numbness during the 'switch'?"
"I'm not sure. Usually it's just dizziness. But, it might different to the person too. So, it wasn't the 'switch'?"
"Maybe it's because I haven't been sleeping well with everything that's happening."
"Is it the first time you felt that numbness?" Soobin asks.
"Hmm-" Beomgyu rubs the back of his neck. "I think it's like the second time? The first was when I was in Daegu, but I didn't collapse."
"Maybe you are tired. Get some rest. You don't have to go to school tomorrow if you don't want to."
Beomgyu nods. Yeah, rest is what he needs. He fishes out his phone and dials Taehyun's number.
"Hello? Beomgyu?" Taehyun calls out from the other side.
Beomgyu smiles the moment he hears the younger's honey voice.
"Taehyunnie~"
And all he needs is Taehyun.
