Another day of school and it hasn't been a month since his final year started. As usual, Beomgyu and Soobin is greeted by friends, girls, and boys in the hallway just on their way to their lockers. Beomgyu and Soobin were chatting and joking around when suddenly Beomgyu's phone lit up, revealing a message.

"Secret admirer?" Soobin teases.

Beomgyu scoffs. "I'm so done with those. And no, it's from an unknown number."

Beomgyu answers the call. "Yeoboseyo?"

"Beomgyu-hyung, it's me, Kai. Just wondering if you have some time after school to talk a bit?" Kai asks.

Beomgyu wasn't sure what it was about but he felt like it was vital. "Sure. The bakery?"

"Oh no, no. What about the school rooftop? Sorry, it's just something I don't prefer people listening on to. You understand how nosy this neighbourhood right?"

Oh, there isn't a single rumour about Beomgyu that got off on the streets about him when he used to date his exes. "I know too well. Sure, the library it is."

Right after school ended, Beomgyu gave an excuse to Soobin saying he had to do extra credit. He made his way to the rooftop as he promised and saw Kai, scrolling through his phone as he leans against the wall. Kai looks up to see Beomgyu and smiles his usual cheerful one.

"Beomgyu-hyung!~" Kai calls out.

Even Beomgyu couldn't deny that Kai was adorable even though he acted manly around Taehyun. "Hey, what's up?"

"An apple?" Kai tosses an apple in Beomgyu's direction and he catches it.

'Starting slow huh?' Beomgyu thought.

"Not to be mean Kai but, I don't have all day."

Kai glares at the latter but that shrugs it off, chuckling. "I heard you're hitting on my boyfriend."

"Well that's a harsh way to put it. Did Taehyun tell you that?"

"No, I made it up. But he did tell me that he's your soulmate. I mean, you're 18, I'm sure you've already experienced the 'switch'. Unlike him, I believe in you."

"Where are you getting at?"

"Although you two are soulmates, it doesn't mean I'll just give up that easily. Have you ever heard of 'reverse'? Or what we usually call it as the 'change'?" Kai asks.

"Soobin-hyung told me about it once, something related to soulmates. But he didn't explain it to me in detail."

"The 'reverse' refers to the ability to change your soulmates. Let's just say, God thinks there's a better match for us, then there would be a 'reverse'. You'll know your soulmates changed when you don't experience the 'switch' for one whole month."

"So, you're saying-"

"I'm willing to do anything but you can't intervene." Kai says.

Beomgyu thought about it for a while. He didn't exactly have feelings for Taehyun, he only chased him because he was his soulmate. Heck, they don't even know each other, only the basics. And he couldn't help but pity Kai, who found out that he might have to let go his boyfriend to someone else and clearly, they were happy together. Beomgyu didn't want to be the reason their relationship's breaking apart. If the 'reverse' can happen to him, then he would give it a try.

But did he want to let go of Taehyun?

"Alright. I understand." Beomgyu says.

"Thanks, hyung." Kai bows.

"But it doesn't mean I can't be his friend."

Kai looked up. "I have a different opinion though. I think if we want this 'change' to work, you'll have to distance yourself from Taehyun." Kai proposes.
