Kaden^

Attraction at first sight.. That's what I believe in. The first time I saw Kaden was when he stepped out of his mothers 2002 Honda Accord. Classy, I know.

Kaden Armstrong moved into the house next to mine at the young age of 8, it's been 9 years and I can only go just as far as calling Kaden an acquaintance.

You know, probably the best part of living next to this beautiful asshole is the great playlists I can come up with between 1-5 am! Ranging from rap, pop, alternative, you name it, Kaden will play it.

"And now I just sit in silence."

As if on cue Twenty One Pilots blasts from next door, which can only mean Kaden is staying at his mothers house today. Oh the joy of joint custody, you never really have your child fully with you.

The music from next door is being played extra loud today brightening my mood up a wee bit more, not.

Music to me is filled with deep meaning, but to Kaden it's just the highest-frequency ever to exist on planet Earth.

Twenty One Pilots is an easy band to love but not when they are being blasted at 6:30 in the morning.

"Wake up Willa!" I hear Zeke yell. Zeke is my 4 year old pain of a brother with an annoyingly loud voice, gotta love him though.

Quickly I run into the shower and put my hair into a bun, not having time to wash it. The cheap body wash I bought from Walmart does its purpose as I scrub it onto my body. It kinda smells like dead flowers if you ask me.

I hop out of the shower glancing in the mirror, same old me, brown hair and blue eyed Willa.

I think my eyes might be my favorite feature but honestly they seem so dull as of lately. My dad used to always compliment them before he passed and I try to hold on to his compliments as much as possible.

I walk into my closet deciding what to wear to hell, joking, Lakeville High School.

Putting on a simple outfit, I grab my backpack and head into my garage. My car sits in its usual spot, covered in rust and chipped paint. An old cadillac is supposed to cost a fortune I assumed, that's why I was thrilled to find this car in the old used car lot down the street.

Usually my car would lurch forward and start, but today it only decided to lurch forward.

This is what happens when you buy an old cadillac, I thought it looked cute. Should've known this car was an old piece of shit (which I still love dearly even after all the troubles it has caused).

I check my watch to see if there's any possible way I can catch a ride from anyone, shit it's too late to call Finn or Bella..

Finn and Bella are my 2 best friends, well my only friends basically, but I wouldn't settle for anything more. Well, sometimes.

Back to the problem at hand, my car won't start. Just as I'm about to ask my mom for a ride I remember she was supposed to be away today, and she left Zeke with his sleepover nanny. Damnit now what am I supposed to do.

It's already too late for the bus so I guess I gotta run to school, it's only two blocks away anyway.

Jumping out of my car I start on the normal path to school. I had to walk this path for my freshmen, sophomore, and most of junior year. You know, today I thought I would be at least 5 minutes early. I'd be lucky to at least be 15 minutes late.

Putting in my head phones I almost have a heart attack when I here a honk next to me.

A black expensive looking car is parked next to me as the drivers side window rolls down slowly. My breath quickens and my palms bead with sweat as I glance at the person in front of me. The guy I've been obsessed with, dare I say stalking, my entire life. Kaden fuckin Armstrong.

"Hey," Kaden mutters, a cigarette hanging from the side of his mouth. Oh god his voice is like a big plate of thanksgiving dinner with whip cream on top, I'm obsessed. Kaden Armstrong, the person I've spoken to less than my non existent cat, which means 0 times. Not counting the times in my head or the dreams of one encounter of course.

"Do you need a ride? It's supposed to start storming soon.." Kaden says nonchalantly breathing out the toxic fumes he just inhaled from the item of death in his hand. I hate cigarettes, and I would never try one, but the way the smokes pivots in and out of his mouth is so... so alluring. Calm your hormones Willa.

I look up and sure enough the sky is lined with dark grey clouds, that's going to be hell to walk in..

"You gonna answer or what," Kaden says leaning back in his chair.

"Do you just ask any random strangers if they need rides or what?" I say shuffling awkwardly on my feet.

"Willa we've lived next to each other for almost our entire lives, your windows literally right across from mine. And to answer your question, no I don't let just anyone into my car." Kaden says with a roll of his eyes.

I don't know which one I should be more confused about, Kaden acknowledging my presence or Kaden, the most popular guy at my school, knowing my name. This might be my chance to get to know him..

Nodding my head, I run to the passenger door and quickly get in before any drop of water can get on to me. Well, I guess we all know now which idiot would get kidnapped first in a thriller film.

When I am situated in my seat I see Kaden looking at the ignition so I decide to check him out; Brown, almost black, wavy, lustrous hair, sharp jaw line with angular cheekbones, pink dusty lips and his boorish hazel eyes. I see why every girl loves him and every boy envies him.

Oh gosh, he's like a greek god, perfectly sculpted for Mt Olympus, not a single imperfection in sight.

I decide to focus back onto what he is saying before he catches me staring, don't wanna seem like a creep before he can properly even know me.

"It'll be about 5 minutes before we get to school." Kaden replies curtly before taking a long drag of his death in a stick.

I turn the radio on and start humming along to what's playing, sounds old, and familiar... Hey Jude by the Beatles perhaps? Just as the chorus comes on, Kaden quickly notices the shift in the quiet atmosphere.

Extending his long toned arms, Kaden quickly switches off the radio, "Touch my radio again I chop off your fingers." Well, he's very angry isn't he.

"Guess we'll just sit in this awkward silence..." I mutter under my breath, referencing the song that woke me up bright and early in the morning.

"What was that?" Kaden says next to me dropping the cigarette into a cup in his car, at least he didn't throw it on the floor I guess.

"Nothing."

I am relieved because we have finally reached school, I quickly unbuckle my seatbelt and turn towards the beautiful boy next to me, "Well um thanks but I gotta skedaddle if I don't want to be late," he nods his head and looks at me get out of his huge car, well, stares. I wave and slowly walk to the front of the school.

Just as I'm almost out of hearing range from his car, I hear him mutter something ever so quietly under his breath.

"Bye Bambi."
