"What the fuck did you say?"
"I said me and Willa used to date, right Willa?" Lucky looks at me with pleading eyes.
Does this kid want to die? The look in his eyes confused me and I'm left wondering on how to answer. I mean on one hand Kaden can go berserk and punch Lucky but, he can also act like a nice guy and calm down. Yeah... I'm gonna go with option one.
"Willa?" Kaden looks at me with a raised eyebrow.
"Uhh, we had a brief thing I guess?" I tell Kaden.
Relief swarms over Lucky's face, "Hey Willa can I talk to you over here?" Lucky quickly says.
"No."
"Yeah sure.." Me and Kaden both say at the same time. Obviously I'll have to tell Kaden that Lucky and I never dated but right now I guess it's better if I say we did... I think.
"One sec Kaden," Kaden gave me a hard glare. I went up to him and kissed his cheek, "I love you, remember that."
I went over to Lucky and grabbed his hand, pulling him behind a tree, "What are you doing Lucky! Do you want to die?!" I whisper-yelled.
"It's not my fault! I saw how cool your boyfriend looked and for once, just this once in my life I wanted to feel like him.. I wanted to see how it would feel to have someone think you're some sort of competition. Which I'm obviously not..." Lucky said looking down.
"Lucky-"
"Wait Willa I'm not done. In my school everyone thinks I'm this joke of a guy and no one thinks I could actually get a girl. It sucks you know? I don't want to be seen as some guy who can't even get a girls number. That's why when I first met you I asked for your number, I had to show my friends I could. Sorry about that," Lucky told me with a sad smile.
"Lucky you don't have to prove anything to anyone. You're cute, you're kind, you're practically the best skateboarder I know. Plus you have hair I would die for, literally can I have your hair?" Lucky laughed at my statement and smiled wide.
"So... Are you going to tell Kaden that we didn't date, I mean you can but... Can you please nottttt," Lucky stressed out.
"Fine. I won't but I will tell him that it was brief and the farthest we've ever gotten is holding hands, okay?" I raised my eyebrow.
"That is A-Okay to me!" Lucky gave me the widest smile I've ever seen and he pulled me from behind the tree.
"I would advise you to let go of my hand if you want to keep yours," I say to Lucky. He quickly lets go of my hand and maintains a good distance from me.
I spot Kaden leaning besides the wall of a building with a scowl on his face, "What took you guys so long," Kaden says, pulling me so his arms are around my waist and his torso is pressed against my back. Kadens still leaning onto the wall as he holds me tight against him.
"We were reminiscing," Lucky says winking at me.
I look wide eyed at lucky and smile sheepishly at Kaden, "Yeah, reminiscing?"
"Well, I hope your fucking reminiscing is over because I want to take you somewhere Willa, let's go." I follow Kaden as he reaches out for my hand and I wave to say bye to Lucky.
"Bye Willa!" I smile at the idiot and bid farewell, kinda.
"You didn't ever actually date him, did you Willa." Kaden says after slinging an arm around my waist.
"What?" I look back and see Lucky jumping for joy with his skateboard flailing in his arms. Kaden give me a smirk and whispers into my ear, "Willa. I've practically obsessed over you for half your life. I know about your past relationships that were brief and I can assure you I have never heard of Lucky. That boy was just trying to get some joy out of pretending to be your ex. The only reason I'm not going back there to pummel his ass is because I love you and I know you would get mad," Kaden moves from my ear and kisses me lightly on the lips.
