"Willa! You're home!" Zeke yells as I walk into my house.
"Hey Zeke!"
That hospital bed took a toll on my back, worst night of my life. Thankfully, I was released and we could drive home.
Apparently my mom will be home in 20 minutes so currently Zeke was waiting with the neighbor after being dropped off from his friends house.
"Thanks Mrs. Jensen," I call to my neighbors retreating back.
"Your Welcome kiddo, stay safe!" She waves back walking away.
Blaze already left while Kaden stayed with me, his dad called some people to retrieve his car from the school so it's at his mothers house.
"I'm sowwy Willa," Zeke whispers tugging on my sleeve.
"Sorry for what Zeke?"
"For not protecting you like daddy could've," Weirdly enough he's kind of learning how to control his r's. For the millionth time this week I feel tears well up in my eyes.
"Zeke.." I hear the door bell ring and I quickly go to open it, trying to leave Zekes statement alone.
The thought of opening the door and seeing my mother actually.. sickens me. I know it's wrong to not open the door for my mom so I grab the handle.
"Willa! I am so sorry for not coming sooner!" She's standing at the door, organized and looking ready for the day.
Her hairs neatly done on top of her head in a top knot, not a single strand out of place. She's wearing a white blouse with a grey pencil skirt with not even one wrinkle. Her heels are not too high but not too short, like what she thinks a proper business woman's shoes should look like.
What sickens me is her eyes, they're cold, ruthless, and empty... I guess I kind of inherited my eyes from her, subtract the cold and ruthless part, but they're quit dull and empty.
"Hey mom..." I awkwardly wave her inside taking a bag from her.
"Willa," She neatly places her bag on the floor and swiftly hugs me, not too close of course.
She silently hugs me for a while, I can feel her deep thoughts combine with my own. My bruises are not healed fully so thankfully her grip on me is not to tight.
Finally we pull apart, smiling at arms length, "I missed you and Zeke."
"I missed you too mom," I hear a cough from behind me and I look to see Kaden with Zeke in his arms.
"Hey Mrs. Colt," Kaden awkwardly waves while Zeke practically jumps out of Kadens arms to greet my mom.
"Mommy!" His chubby arms wrap around my mothers neck in less than a second, how cute.
"Ezekiel! I've missed you so much! Have you really grown in the short span of 2 days?!" Even though my mother may be cold as shit, she has always had a soft spot for my brother. I guess he kind of reminds her of my dad, he reminds me of dad anyway..
"How about we go to the park Ezekiel? I'm sure Willa and Kaden have some stuff to take care of," She looks up and winks at me.
Beat red. Thats all I can say about my face right now.
"Yeah mommy!" He runs upstairs to grab his coat while my mom ushers us both towards her.
"Willa, Kaden, I know everything that happened at school, your principal called. I don't know why you're going so easy on that girl, but it's your choice so I don't want to intervene," She takes in a big breath closing her eyes.
