"Willa! Please wait!" I hear Kaden from behind me.It's been a day since he basically rejected me and I don't know how I feel about him running up to me.
I turn around almost bumping into him in the process, "What do you want Kaden?" I say in the most exasperated tone I could muster.
"Look Willa please just listen to me."
"I'm giving you five minutes, the bells going to ring for first period in ten so hurry," I don't feel like arguing with anyone anymore so I'll let him speak his peace.
Kaden grabs my hand leading me into the school library and to the back shelves. No one ever comes here, it's basically the schools dead mans land.
"I'm an asshole, a jerk, whatever you'd like to call me—" all I can do is nod my head "—I'm all those things for a reason Bam- Willa. I'm closed off and conceited for a reason, and I know that's not a good excuse but it's all I got."
"Kaden..." I start
"Bambi please," he begs, Bambi? That's new.
"Why won't you let me in, I mean yes we aren't the greatest friends, but why can't you let me in?"
I'm confused by the entirety of this friendship, it's fresh but it feels like we've been struggling to be acquainted for years.
"It's... hard. I don't know how to let people in, it took me forever to warm up to Blaze and Maddox."
"Ok Kaden but where does that leave us?" I whisper, remembering that we're in a library but also scared by my question.
"Can we at least try to be friends, and by try I mean it. I will try," Kaden says. He looks desperate so he must actually want to be my friend. I really don't understand this Greek god. One minute he ignores me, the next he's practically begging for me to be his friend?
"Ok Kaden, but can you also maybe try to open up? Just a little bit?" I ask
"Willa..." He looks at my solemn expression.
"Ok Willa I'll try but don't blame me if I'm too closed off for your liking," Kaden sighs.
I smile widely and hug Kaden, he goes stiff for a few seconds but then he slowly wraps his arms around me.
"Thanks Kaden for apologizing, so friend lets get to class before we're late," I say pulling away.
Kaden rolls his eyes with a slight smile on his face, he reluctantly follows me as I start to walk away.
"What am I going to do with a friend like you Bambi?" he says as we walk out of the library and into our next class.
"What would you do without a friend like me Faline?"
"Faline?" he questions
"Bambi's 'girlfriends' name."
Kaden smiles as we walk into Ms. Fords room.
"So I guess you two are all coolio now?" Blaze asks as we sit down.
"Coolio? Really Blaze I would except more from the panty dropper like yourself.." Kaden trailed off.
"Yeah we're all good now, Faline here, wants to be friends with me," I smirk.
Blaze laughed and Kaden glared at me right as Ms. Ford walked into the room. At least one person gets my joke.
Ignoring us she said, "Ok everyone right now, get into your groups and plan stuff out."
I'm almost 98.9% sure Ms. Ford sees us like she does her own children. She most definitely does not want to deal with us right now, as I can tell by the way she grabs a magazine and starts flipping through it.
