What Lies Ahead Part 3 ch 22
The Quartermaines: The family was preparing to leave for Wiley's funeral. "Where is Monica?" Tracy asked. "She wanted a minute to herself before the funeral," AJ replied. "This is getting to her." "Yes, it's a sad day," Elizabeth added.
At the Quartermaine crypt—Monica was standing beside Alan's grave. "Oh Alan, today we are saying goodbye to our grandson. You have him now. Keep him safe," Monica whispered. She touched his grave and then left.
At the church—Carly, Josslyn, and Lucas were present. "I hate this," Carly said. "Me too. I wish, as a doctor, I could save the children," Lucas shared. "Me too," Josslyn agreed. Robin, Tommy, Steve, the Quartermaines, Nina, and Willow arrived.
Willow stood up to speak. "I love Wiley as my son, and I enjoy taking care of him. I don't regret it. I hate that he's gone, and Michael—I miss both of them so much," Willow expressed.
Monica stood up. "Wiley was my great-grandson, and I loved him dearly. I wanted to give him a good life—something his father didn't have. Raised by us Quartermaines—he should still be alive. None of the children should have died that night," Monica said.
Lucas rose. "I raised Wiley for the first year of his life, and I don't regret it. I loved him very much and still do," he said tearfully before sitting back down. Carly got up next. "We all loved Wiley. He brought us together, and we will carry on that love. He should be here," she said through tears before sitting again.
Nina stood up. "I love Wiley as much as anyone here, and I miss him so much. But I loved being part of his life. When we moved, we shared some wonderful memories, and I will cherish them," Nina shared.
Lucas, Ned, and AJ carried Wiley's casket out of the church, placing it in the limousine for his burial at the Quartermaine crypt.
