What Lies Ahead Part 3 Ch. 48
At the General Hospital, Portia, Steve, Maya, and Elizabeth came out of the surgery room after working on Cecil and were reflecting on it.
"I think it went well," Portia said.
"Yes, me too. Now we need to tell the family," Steve added. They went by the family, and Sasha took Skye's hand as they passed.
"How is our mother?" Sasha asked. Skye was touched by the question.
"The surgery went well. We won't know if Cecil can see through her eyes; she has to be covered with gauze for a while," Steven explained.
"It takes time for the sight to come back," Portia said.
"You can see Cecil, but don't overwhelm her," Maya added.
"We won't. Thank you all for helping her. Sasha, why don't you go first?" Skye suggested.
"Thanks for the support, everyone," Sasha said, and she left.
Skye opened her purse, pulled out a tissue to wipe her tears, then took out a mirror to look at her scars. She hated them.
"Skye, can I get rid of these scars?" she asked.
"Yes, you can. It's a tension surgery, but I believe you can handle it," Maya replied.
"I believe I can too. I can survive anything, after all," Skye said.
Kim was in the supplies room, putting away supplies that had just arrived.
In Cecil's room, Cecil was in bed with gauze over her eyes when Sasha entered.
"Mother, it's me. Sasha. Your surgery went well. You have to keep the bandage on your eyes for a while," Sasha said.
"I'm glad you're here," Cecil replied.
"Me too. I do love you," Sasha said, taking Cecil's hand.
"I love you too," Cecil responded.
"The whole family is in the hallway. They want to support you, even Tracy," Sasha added.
"I never thought I'd be accepted back into the family. I always wanted a family. We both win," she added.
In the hallway, Skye was thinking about the surgery when Monica approached.
"Monica, I need your professional opinion about surgery on my scar. Maya was telling me about it," Skye said.
"Yes, your scars are healing enough for surgery," Monica replied.
As Tracy came by, she asked, "What surgery?"
"On my scar. It's time I do it," Skye answered.
"Alright, let's schedule it," Monica said.
