── Rahaf's pov ──
The air hummed with anticipation as I stood before the ornate mirror, the delicate fabric of my wedding dress cascading around me like a waterfall of ivory georgette.
I smoothed a stray strand of hair behind my ear and gazed at my reflection, taking in every detail of the elaborate bridal ensemble that adorned me.
Today was the day I had dreamed of since I was a little girl, the day when I would become someone's wife in the eyes of Allah and the world.
In the grand hall below, the rhythmic chanting of prayers mingled with the soft murmur of guests, creating a symphony of anticipation that filled the air.
The fragrance of jasmine and roses wafted through the room, intertwining with the sweet scent of incense, as if the very essence of love had taken flight and settled among us.
My heart fluttered with nervous excitement as I prepared to embark on this new chapter of my life, but amidst the flurry of emotions, one thought remained constant: Aydin Hussain
My enigmatic husband-to-be, whose presence loomed like a shadow over my every waking moment, casting both dread and curiosity in equal measure.
I had heard tales of Aydin's wealth and power, his towering reputation as a titan of industry whose very name commanded respect and fear in equal measure. But beneath the veneer of his success lay a mystery that even I, his future wife, had yet to unravel.
What secrets lay hidden behind those cold, calculating eyes? What demons lurked within the recesses of his heart, casting a pall over his every word and deed?
As I descended the staircase, the weight of my wedding dress dragging behind me like the heavy burden of expectation, I couldn't help but steal a glance at the man who would soon become my husband.
Aydin stood at the far end of the hall, his tall, imposing figure shrouded in the soft glow of candlelight, his expression unreadable as he awaited my arrival.
My heart skipped a beat as our eyes met, and for the briefest moment, I thought I saw a flicker of something in his gaze—was it curiosity? Regret? Or merely the reflection of my own hopes and fears? But as quickly as it had appeared, the moment passed, and Aydin's features hardened into the mask of stoicism that I had come to know all too well.
The Imam's voice rose above the murmurs of the crowd, his words weaving a sacred tapestry of love and commitment that enveloped us like a warm embrace.
I listened intently as he recited the verses of the Quran, each word resonating deep within my soul, filling me with a sense of purpose and resolve.
And then, in a hushed whisper that seemed to echo through the very depths of my being, Aydin spoke the words that would bind us together for eternity.
"Qubool hai," he said, his voice as cool and steady as the desert wind, as if he were merely reciting lines from a script rather than pledging his heart and soul to mine.
But as I repeated the words after him, my voice trembling with emotion, I felt a spark of something stir within me—a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness, a ray of sunshine piercing through the storm clouds that threatened to engulf us.
For in that moment, as we stood before Allah and the world, I knew that no matter what trials and tribulations lay ahead, our love would be the guiding light that would lead us through the darkest of nights, illuminating the path to a future filled with promise and possibility.
And so, as the final echoes of the Imam's prayer faded into the stillness of the night, I took Aydin's hand in mine, my heart overflowing with love and gratitude for the man who had become my husband in the eyes of Allah and the world. And as we turned to face our loved ones, their smiles and blessings washing over us like a gentle breeze, I knew that our journey together had only just begun.
