—Aydin's pov—
As I sat in my office, the weight of my responsibilities pressing down on me, I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled over me.Rahaf was now coming in between my work, she doesn't know how important this is for me, how hardwork and courage it requires to build a own business.
Despite the flurry of tasks demanding my attention, my mind kept drifting back to Rahaf—the source of the turmoil that now consumed me.
Lost in my thoughts, I absently reached for my phone, dialing my father's number with practiced ease.
He picked up after a few rings, and I wasted no time in requesting him to send over the file I had forgotten at home.
The urgency in my voice betrayed my inner turmoil, though I made no mention of the true reason behind my request.
Before I could dwell further on the matter, the door to my office swung open, and Zain bhai, my elder brother, entered, his expression grave and his demeanor serious.
His unexpected presence only added to my growing sense of discomfort, and I found myself tensing in anticipation of the conversation that was about to unfold.
"Why are you here?" I questioned, my tone clipped and devoid of warmth. His sudden appearance did little to alleviate my already frayed nerves, and I braced myself for whatever confrontation he had come to initiate.
He didn't mince words, his gaze piercing as he cut straight to the heart of the matter. "Why are you behaving like this with Rahaf?" he inquired, his voice tinged with concern.
Despite my efforts to deflect his probing, Zain bhai refused to be deterred, his persistence forcing me to confront the uncomfortable truth that I had been avoiding.
I let out a weary sigh, the weight of my actions settling heavily upon me. "I don't want to talk about her," I replied tersely, my words laden with a mix of frustration and resignation.
Zain bhai's serious gaze bearing down on me with an intensity that bordered on accusation.
"Do you even realize what you're doing, Aydin?" His voice held a note of incredulity, his tone a damning indictment of my actions.
Despite his efforts to conceal it, I detected a hint of disappointment in his words, a silent rebuke for my failure to live up to the expectations placed upon me.
I raised a hand to massage my temples, a futile attempt to alleviate the growing tension that threatened to consume me.
"That innocent girl left her family, her house, her everything and accepted you as her husband," He continued, his words a stark reminder of the magnitude of Rahaf's sacrifice. "In return, she only wants some love from you. But you can't even give her that?"
"She's so immature, bhai!" I retorted, my voice laced with disdain. "I was gone to New York for my business work, but she kept calling me and texting me again and again. Why doesn't she understand it was a business trip, not a vacation?"
"Shut up, Aydin," his voice was firm, his gaze unwavering as he met my eyes with a steely resolve. "You need to understand her too. She was doing that because she cares for you!"
