-Aydin's pov-
As I stood there, my heart pounding in my chest, I couldn't bear to hear the words that would seal Rahaf's fate. The doctor's expression said it all, and my worst fears were confirmed when he uttered those devastating words.
"We're sorry to inform you, Mr. Aydin, your wife has gone into a coma."
It felt as though the ground had shifted beneath my feet, leaving me suspended in a world of pain and despair. I couldn't comprehend the magnitude of what had just been said. Rahaf, was now in a state of unconsciousness, her life hanging in the balance.
The shock of the news hit me like a physical blow, and I felt as though my soul had been torn apart. I stumbled backward, my knees buckling beneath me, unable to support the weight of my grief. Rehaan's furious outburst only added to the chaos swirling within me, his words echoing the anguish that consumed us all.
"What do you mean she went into a coma?" he demanded, his voice thick with emotion.
Tears blurred my vision as I sank to the ground, my body wracked with sobs. Rahaf, my wife , lay unconscious, fighting for her life. And I, her husband, was powerless to do anything but watch helplessly as she battled against the darkness threatening to consume her.
As the reality of Rahaf's condition washed over me, a sense of profound guilt consumed my every thought. I was responsible for this, responsible for the pain and suffering that now engulfed us all. If only I had been more attentive, more understanding-if only I had been the husband Rahaf deserved-perhaps none of this would have happened.
But there was no turning back the hands of time, no undoing the mistakes that had led us to this moment. All I could do now was pray, pray with every fiber of my being, that Rahaf would find the strength to fight, to wake from her slumber and return to me, to us, whole once more.
"But doctor, can we atleast see her?" Rahaf's father asked, his voice heavy with emotions.
"Sure, but only one person at a time." Saying that he left, leaving us surrounded in sorrow.
Feeling a gentle hand on my shoulder I looked up to meet Rahaf's father's gaze, he looked at me with concern mixed with emotions. "You go first beta."
I felt a wave of guilt hitting me, despite the condition of his daughter he's giving me such respect which I don't even deserve. No doubt Rahaf was his daughter.
As I stepped into the room, the sterile scent of the hospital engulfed me, mingling with the heavy weight of guilt that hung in the air. Rahaf lay before me, pale and still, her once vibrant presence now subdued by the machines that surrounded her.
Taking a seat beside her bed, I reached out and gently clasped her hand in mine, the warmth of her touch a stark contrast to the cold reality of our situation. My heart ached as I looked upon her, so fragile and vulnerable, her life hanging in the balance.
"I'm so sorry, Rahaf," I whispered, my voice barely audible above the hum of the machines. "I didn't mean to say those words, I never meant them. I never meant to hurt you, to cause you pain."
