-Rahaf's pov-
As the soft hues of twilight painted the sky in shades of pink and gold, I found myself drawn to the familiar comfort of my prayer mat.
The call to Maghrib prayer echoed through the air, a gentle reminder of the sacredness of the moment. With a sense of reverence, I lowered myself onto the soft fabric, my heart overflowing with gratitude for the opportunity to connect with my Allah.
As I began the rhythmic movements of my prayer, my mind drifted into a state of serenity, my thoughts quieting to a hushed whisper.
With each bow and prostration, I felt a sense of peace wash over me, the cares and worries of the world melting away in the presence of the Divine.
"Allahu Akbar," I murmured softly, my voice barely above a whisper as I lowered myself into the first prostration. "O Allah, grant me strength in times of hardship, and guide me along the straight path."
In the stillness of the moment, I felt a profound sense of connection with my Creator, a bond that transcended time and space. I poured out my heart in prayer, laying bare my hopes and fears, my joys and sorrows, knowing that He alone could understand the depths of my soul.
As I rose from my prostration, tears pricked at the corners of my eyes, a testament to the overwhelming emotion that filled my heart.
"Ya Allah," I whispered, my voice trembling with emotion. "Forgive me for my shortcomings, and grant me the strength to face whatever challenges lie ahead."
With each passing moment, the weight of the world lifted from my shoulders, replaced by a sense of peace and tranquility that enveloped me like a warm embrace.
I lingered in prayer, reluctant to break the connection with the Divine, savoring the precious moments of solitude and reflection.
And then, as the final strains of the call to prayer faded into the night, I rose from my prayer mat, my heart light and my spirit renewed.
With a deep breath, I made my way downstairs, where the comforting chatter of everyone awaited me.
As I entered the room, the warmth of their smiles greeted me like a ray of sunshine, dispelling the last traces of darkness from my heart. "Assalamu Alaikum," I greeted them with a smile, my voice soft with affection.
"Wa Alaikum Assalam, Rahaf," Ayesha aunty replied who was sitting on the couch with my mother, her eyes shining with love. "How was your prayer?"
"It was beautiful, Alhamdulillah," I replied, my heart swelling with gratitude. "There's nothing quite like the peace that comes from connecting with Allah."
She smiled warmly at me running a hand over my head and looked at my mother. "Asiya, you and Raheem bhaijaan have raised your daughter very well."
That made my heart flutter.
I looked over at my mother and she smiled proudly, I couldn't stop my cheeks turning red as I took a seat beside them.
I saw Noor bhabhi coming towards us with a tray of Tea. She placed the tray on the table and took a seat beside me, both mothers grabbed each cups of the tea and continued their talk.
