-Rahaf's pov-

I neared their door, the sound of hushed voices reached my ears, causing me to pause in my tracks. Curiosity piqued, I hesitated for a moment before inching closer, straining to catch snippets of the conversation beyond.

"I'm not sure Rahaf will agree to this," my mother's voice drifted through the door, tinged with concern.

My heart skipped a beat at her words, a flicker of unease stirring in the depths of my soul. What were they talking about? And why did they doubt my willingness to agree?

But before I could dwell on the matter further, my father's voice cut through the silence like a knife, his words sending a chill down my spine. "I'll make her understand that Aydin is the perfect match for her," he declared, his tone resolute.

My breath caught in my throat at his words, a sense of disbelief washing over me like a tidal wave. Aydin? The perfect match for me? It couldn't be true.

Aydin and I were nothing more than acquaintances, our interactions have only been awkward and embarassing.

How can they even think about me and HIM?

No.

Never.

As the weight of their words sank in, I felt a surge of panic rise within me, threatening to engulf me in its suffocating embrace.

How could my parents even consider such a thing without consulting me first? Didn't they realize that matters of the heart were not to be taken lightly? Plus I came here to build my future but they're planning something else.

Fueled by a mixture of shock and indignation, I pushed open the door with trembling hands, my voice trembling with emotion as I confronted them. "What are you both talking about?" I demanded, my heart pounding in my chest.

The sight of my parents, their faces frozen in shock at my sudden intrusion, only served to fuel my anger.

My mother's eyes widened in surprise, her gaze flickering between my father and me as she struggled to find the right words.

"Rahaf, sweetheart, it's not what you think," she began, her voice tinged with remorse. "We were just discussing the possibility of you and Aydin..."

But I cut her off with a wave of my hand, my patience wearing thin at their attempts to explain away their actions. "I don't want to hear it, Ammi," I declared, my voice trembling with emotion.

"I won't let you dictate my future to me. I have a right to make my own decisions, and I won't let anyone take that away from me."

As the gravity of my words sank in, a heavy silence descended upon the room, broken only by the sound of my ragged breathing.

My parents exchanged a solemn glance, their expressions filled with regret and sorrow.

"Rahaf, please, just hear us out," my father pleaded, his voice tinged with desperation. "We only want what's best for you. We wouldn't do anything without reason, right beta?"

But I shook my head, my resolve unwavering as I met their gaze with steely determination. "I appreciate your concern, papa, lekin aap dono jo bhi soch rahe ho, woh nahi hoga." insisted, my voice unwavering. "I won't be pressured into this stuff, I'm just 19!" (But whatever you both are thinking is not gonna happen.)
