-Rahaf's pov-

As I stepped into the car beside Aydin, the atmosphere seemed heavy with silence. It wasn't unusual for him to be quiet, but today, it felt different, almost suffocating.

I couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment as I glanced at him, hoping for some interaction, some warmth, but his gaze remained fixed on the road ahead, his expression unreadable.

After a few minutes of awkward silence, I couldn't bear it any longer. I had to break the tension, even if it meant speaking into the void. "I really wished you were coming to the party tonight," I said softly, my voice barely above a whisper. "I'm performing, and... it would have meant a lot to me if you were there."

But Aydin didn't respond. His silence spoke volumes, leaving me feeling even more dejected than before. I turned my gaze out of the window, watching the familiar streets pass by in a blur as we made our way to the university.

When we finally arrived, Aydin pulled over and stopped the car. I gathered my things, preparing to step out, but before I could, Aydin spoke, his voice devoid of emotion. "I have an important event to attend."

My heart sank at his words, disappointment washing over me like a wave. I had hoped he would make an exception, even if just for a few minutes, but it seemed my wishes were in vain. With a forced smile, I nodded and replied, "Okay, I understand."

As I stepped out of the car, I couldn't help but feel a sense of loneliness wash over me. Aydin's absence felt like a void, a stark reminder of the distance between us. But I pushed aside my feelings, steeling myself for the performance ahead.

With determination in my heart, I made my way into the university, ready to give it my all on stage, even if Aydin couldn't be there to witness it.

As I stepped into the university campus, I was greeted by a sight that took my breath away. The entire place was transformed, adorned with colorful decorations and twinkling lights in preparation for the fresher's party.

Students bustled about, dressed in their finest attire, the girls draped in elegant sarees and the boys looking dapper in suits. It was a scene straight out of a Bollywood movie, and I couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement mixed with nervousness in the pit of my stomach.

Spotting my friend Zoya across the courtyard, I made my way over to her with a smile. She looked stunning in her saree, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Hey, Rahaf!" she exclaimed, pulling me into a hug. "You look gorgeous in that red saree girl!"

Returning her hug, I thanked her with a smile, though my mind was preoccupied with thoughts of my impending performance. "Thanks, Zoya," I replied, my voice tinged with nerves. "I'm really nervous about tonight."

Zoya's eyes softened with understanding as she gave my hand a reassuring squeeze. "Don't worry, Rahaf," she said reassuringly. "You're going to be amazing. Just believe in yourself."

Her words were a comforting balm to my frayed nerves, and I nodded gratefully, taking a deep breath to steady myself. "Thanks, Zoya," I said sincerely. "I needed to hear that."
