-Rahaf's pov-
As the days passed by, my routine at the university settled into a familiar pattern. I was relieved that I hadn't encountered my ex-crush again. What was even his name?
Well I don't care, I don't wanna think about him!
I had thrown myself into my studies, immersing myself in lectures and assignments, determined to make the most of this opportunity, and like that the week had passed.
It's been a week since I started my college and I was slowly adjusting to my new routine. However, despite my busy schedule, I couldn't shake off the nagging feeling that something was amiss.
Aydin's demeanor had reverted to its former coldness, and I found myself longing for the brief moments of warmth he had shown me earlier.
It was as if those moments had been nothing more than fleeting illusions, disappearing as quickly as they had come.
I was cooking dinner for everyone today because the maids were on leave, and I couldn't let mom or Noor bhabhi cook that too when she's pregnant.
It was currently Half past 8 and he still didn't come back from office. His usual time was 7 pm but since a week he's been coming late and he has gotten very busy in his work.
I couldn't understand why he had reverted to his grumpy self, especially after his small gestures of kindness towards me. Had I done something to upset him? Or was this simply his true nature shining through?
I decided to have a talk with him today, On this pretext, we will have some talks after a week.
That day when we had a cute banter at the golgappa vendor. I found myself smiling everytime I thought about it, the way he was staring at me in disbelief when I asked the man for free paapdi.
There's a thing about his stares, he talks a lot through his eyes. He keeps his face unreadable but his eyes speak a lot. And Allah knows what hides behind those beautiful brown eyes of his.
"Rahaf, kya soch kar itna muskura rahi ho?" I broke off my thoughts as I heard Noor bhabhi's voice. I had not even realised I was smiling while thinking about mr grumpy! (What are you thinking about, smiling so much?)
"N-nothing bhabhi bas yuhi.." I spoke embarassed, my cheeks flushed red.
She grinned sheepishly making me more shy, but I fought back my smile and said "Bhabhi!!"
"Fine fine.." she chuckled leaving after filling up her water bottle. I twitched my lips into a slight smile at how stupid activities I was doing.
Soon everyone sat at the table for dinner except him. He wasn't home yet and I was somewhere worried, has he eaten anything? When will he be home?
"Aaj khana humari Rahaf ne banaya hai.." Mom announced making the two males look at me with surprised smile.
"Mashah Allah! Bohot khoob meri bachi, bismillah karein?" Dad asked, a warm smile spreading on his face. (Very good my daughter, shall we do bismillah?)
"Ji, dad aap sab shuru karein main baad mein khaungi." I replied politely, my gaze lowered. (Yes, dad, you all start, I will eat later.)
"Why beta?" He asked.
"Shohar ke bina biwiyon ke gale se niwala nahi utarta, aap khayein na. Woh Aydin ka intezar kar rahi hai." Mom replied on behalf of me and the room echoed with soft laughter of my family. (Wives can't eat food without their husbands, You eat. She is waiting for Aydin.)
I kept glancing at the clock desperate for his arrival but he didn't show up. Everyone went to their rooms after having their dinner, I sat on the couch doing zikar. That's what I do when I get free time. Remember my Creator everyday.
