~* Mallory's POV *~

When I woke up that next morning, I no longer heard the soft rumble from beneath me. Any evidence of last night's visit was gone. The warmth of Michael's arms seemed to have just been stripped off of me.

Maybe it was a dream, I thought. I couldn't help but feel a slight weight of disappointment. But when I threw off the covers and rolled out of bed, a voice stopped me.

You weren't dreaming, love.

I immediately went into ninja mode, turning and twisting with my hands in the air threateningly.

A soft chuckle was heard. And it seemed to be coming... From inside my head.

"Who are you?" I asked aloud.

It's me, Michael. The voice continued. Im talking to you telepathically.

"So, do I have to talk out loud?" I asked.

No, just think what you want to say. Michael replied.

Oh. Well in that case, hi Michael. I said inside my head.

Good morning, Mallory. Michael replied, a slight giggle following.

Me: I don't wanna go to school....

Michael: I know.....

Me: Maybe I could skip.

Michael: Not on my watch, missy!

Me: Ugh!

Michael: Don't 'ugh' me!

Me: .... Whatever..

Michael: Don't make me come down there!

Me: Fine........

Michael: Good. Im watching you.

I just rolled my eyes and went to get ready for the day.

I brushed my long light-brown hair, and pulled it into a not-so-perfect high ponytail. I brushed my teeth to get rid of the "morning taste."

After that, I changed into a Green Day shirt and skinny jeans. I pulled on a pair of black Converse and grabbed my backpack.

Michael: What about breakfast?

Me: I'm not hungry.

Which was true. I hadn't been hungry in days. Just the thought of food was enough to make my stomach spin.

Michael: You need to eat, Mallory.

I ignored him and walked out the door.

~ * Michael's POV * ~

Poor Mallory...... What she was going through was completely unfair and cruel. I like her mom, but she needed to step up and realize that her daughter needs her.

It hurt when Mallory refused to eat. It was unhealthy for her to just stop eating. Did she not notice how thin she was? Her arms and legs were like sticks, her bones bulging through her skin. She looked so fragile, like a baby bird. I sighed, going up to my best mate Calum.
