The first day Visenya had sipped a dose of her new poison, she could barely walk through the castle halls. She had broken into a cold sweat and the senses on her tongue dulled.
The second day, Jace had found her confined to her rooms with a concerned expression. Hours after Visenya had to force herself to follow her brother's eager footsteps as he took her to the gardens, convinced she was homesick.
The third day, her mother and father had called for a family dinner in their chambers in which Visenya had barely managed to hold herself together under the eyes of Daemon Targaryen.
The fourth day, she had escaped from all possible threats as she hid in the shelves in the castle's library.
Now, on the fifth day, the swaying had lessened to the point where her head would no longer swim, eyes no longer blur at the slightest movements. From the slight salty taste that morn her senses were also slowly returning.
Visenya sat on the window's edge, leaning one side of her body against the glass as her skirts flowed down to the floor on the other. She had the book A History of Old Valyria held up against her lap, knees slightly perched.
'There are rumours going around lately, and with your constant absence I had hope they were true.'
The Princess looked up at the familiar, deep voice of her Uncle. Aemond was walking towards her, hands clasped behind his back as his eye glanced towards the book resting on her skirts.
'What rumours?'
'That you have fallen ill.'
Visenya gave him a smile, the Prince coming to a halt as he came near and without a change in his expression, his eye flickered up towards hers.
'Unfortunate, that i remain of good health.'
'Hm, yes.' Aemond agreed, head slightly tilted to the side. 'Unfortunate indeed.'
'Is there a reason for this visit?'
His lips rose slightly. 'Does my presence bother you?'
'Of course not.' Visenya replied, not a hint of genuine emotion shown on her face as she closed the book on her lap, turning to face her uncle. 'Though it is unusual that you would seek me out of your own free will.'
After their nightly adventure the two had not spent a moment together, not even once. Though every time Visenya would pass the training grounds, Aemond would swing his sword a little harder. And whenever he would pass the castle walls, She found herself more and more conscious of her surroundings.
His gaze had trailed after her like that of a dragon after its prey and she lavished in the attention.
If not for the obvious signs of poisoning, she would not have shied away from his stare.
'My sister requests your presence in her chambers.' Aemond spoke, a small secretive smile on his face that made her stare at him with suspicion.
'And why wouldn't she have called me herself?'
'You have not been easy to find these past few days, Princess.' The Prince replied and she couldn't disagree. In fact, she had thrived for solitude in the past few days while she got used to the poison.
'Very well, then.' Visenya stood, clutching the book in her arms though the sudden moment had made her sway, head suddenly pounding as the poisonous effects returned once more.
She stumbled, legs briefly going weak and just as she was about to fall an arm had circled around her waist, pulling her against a much larger body.
