'How could you allow such a thing to happen.' Viserys spoke, disbelief clear in his eyes. 'I will have answers.'
The commotion had woken up the whole castle, having gathered in one of the big meeting rooms. Aemond had stopped screaming by the time the rest of his family had arrived, wincing and scrunching his face in pain whenever the Maester were to touch his wounds.
Alicent, the Queen crouched by her son's side, fury swimming in her gaze as she flinched ever so slightly whenever Aemond were to make a pained noise.
'The Princes and Princesses were supposed to be at bed, my King.' The knight spoke, Jace tightening his hold on Visenya's shoulder as Alicent's accusing gaze snapped up towards them.
Baela and Rhaena were stood by their each other, their stance defensive as the lingering fury of having their dragon stolen refused to fade off of either's expressions.
'Who had the watch?'
'The young prince was attacked by his own cousins your grace-'
'You swore oaths!' Viserys stood, hitting his cane on the floor as he turned his furious gaze towards Ser Criston. 'To protect and defend my blood!'
'I am very sorry your grace.' Ser Criston spoke, but he had not the thought to lower his gaze. 'But the kings guard has never had to protect Princes from Princes before your grace.'
'That is no answer!'
'It will heal, would it not Maester?' Alicent's concerned filled voice broke through the short silence as she fussed over her son.
'The flesh will heal.' The old man spoke, his hands gentle as he continued to stitch the long slash that ran down the Prince's face. 'But the eye is lost, your grace.'
Alicent looked as if to faint, standing she had turned to her son, slapping him before any could react. 'Where were you?'
'What was that for?' Aegon questioned, rubbing his stinging cheek.
'That was nothing compared to the abuse your brother suffered while you were drowning in your cups you fool.'
'What is the meaning of this!' Coryls spoke, his voice silencing all others as he raced down the stairs, followed shortly by his wife, Rhaenys who immediately went to her granddaughter's aide.
'Rhaena, Baela what happened?'
The two sisters raced towards their grandmother, shoving their faces into her arms.
The door on the opposite side of the room creaked opened as Rhaenyra walked through, face stricken with panic. Daemon following at a much more relaxed pace.
'Jace?' She questioned, looking through the room and as her eyes caught sight of the blood on her children they widened. 'Visenya!'Her brother's hold loosened on her shoulder as Rhaenyra rushed through the crowd, crouching down in front of her bleeding daughter.
'Show me, show me.' Her mother cooed, hands raising to hold Visenya's own that was currently holding her bleeding nose. Rhaenyra's rage was swift as she turned towards the crowd. 'Who did this?'
'They attacked me!' Came Aemond's response.
'He was going to kill Jace!'
'He stole my mother's dragon!'
At once, the children's noise rose as the five royals were all quick to defend themselves. Each of them throwing their accusations out in the open.
'Enough.' Viserys sighed, standing from his seat though none of the children took to his command. 'Enough.' He repeated once more but once again, was ignored. Alicent stood from her crouch, cursing out Jace as he stood to his sister's defense.
