Arrax cried out in excitement as he shook his head and Visenya grabbed her reins tighter, rubbing the side of his neck comfortingly.
'Soon, Arrax.' She mumbled in High Valyrian in an attempt to calm the beast.
The Princess and her brother wore matching cloaks. Hers red while her brother's black, both made out of leather layered enough to keep out the cold winds of the night sky, protecting their body whenever they were to ride during rough weathers.
Visenya turned as the Queen walked out from the castle a knight by her side, eyes glancing towards both of her children's faces though her mother made sure to hide her anxiousness well.
'It's been said that as Targaryens, we are closer to gods than to men.' Rhaenyra started and Jace came forward at once, meeting his mother half way as Visenya turned from her dragon, walking forward as well. 'And the Iron Throne puts us a touch closer, perhaps. But if we are to serve the Seven Kingdoms, you answer to their Gods.'
The Queen's face hardened then, clasping her hands before her. 'If you take this errand, you go as messengers not as warriors. You must take no part in any fighting. Swear it to me now under the eyes of the Seven.'
The knight brought forth the book of the Seven and Visenya was the first to place her hand on the covers. 'I swear it.' She promised, looking into her mother's eyes but Jace was more reluctant, jaws working as he copied his sister.
'I swear it.'
'Thank you.' Queen Rhaenyra nodded towards the knight, her shoulders relaxing. 'Cregan Stark is closer to your age than to mine. I would hope that as men you would find some common interest.'
'Yes, your Grace.'
Her mother's gaze turned on her. 'Storm's End is a short flight from here.' The Queen assured her daughter, a small smile on her face. 'You have Baratheon blood from your grandmother, Rhaenys. And Lord Borros is a proud man, he would be honored, to host the Princess of the realm and her dragon.'
She reached forward, grabbing the Princess's hand in hers, placing the tied scroll. 'I expect that you would receive a very warm welcome.'
'Yes, your grace.' Visneya replied, giving the Queen a soft smile in which Rhaenyra struggled to return.
Exchanging a nod with her brother, the two walked back towards their dragons, both climbing onto their backs with ease now that they had gotten used to the beasts.
With a lasting glance towards her mother Visenya leaned down towards Arrax's back, locking her feet into the dragon seat.
'Sovegon, Arrax.'
The beast wasted no time, screeching as he turned towards the stone's edge and with a leap off of the castle Arrax pumped his wings, his body soaring high up into the stormy sky.
---
True to her mother's words, it took less than two hours time to reach Storms End.
Visenya looked beneath her towards the tower that stood high up towards the sky on a lone rock separated from the mainland. Houses lingered on the narrow pathway that led up to the vast land beyond and as she flew towards it, an unsettling feeling nudged her stomach.
Steering Arrax right the dragon started to slow, beating its wings beating against the air as it descended from the sky on the front entrance of the castle.
The knights near the front gates stared up as she landed, Arrax letting out a low grumble as he turned his head towards the side, staring at the knights before them and Visenya swung her leg towards her left, jumping down onto the gravel below.
