The aftermath of the drinking sesh with a brokenhearted girl is a mess. Mabuti nalang masipag ako maglinis. Tsk.
I started to wash the glasswares and then nag segregate ng basura. Lastly, I wiped off the tables and countertop and mopped the floor.
O diba, parang wala lang nangyari? Ang linis at bango na ulit ng living room.
"Tapos mo na linisin lahat?" Kathryn arrived with a trash bag.
I nodded and grinned. "How's Ash?"
"Mahimbing na ang tulog."
"Eh matulog ka narin. Marami ka ring nainom eh."
"Hindi pa ako inaantok. Laro nalang tayo."
"Kath, kung Never Have I Ever na naman yan, matutulog nalang ako."
"Hahaha! Nakaka-trauma ba yung game kanina? Don't worry, iba ang naiisip ko. It's fun, promise." She gestured to wait for her as she vanishes right away and returned with a skateboard.
"Skateboarding at this hour?! Ala una na hoy."
"Sus takot ka lang matalo eh."
She really knows how to push a button kasi triggered agad ang competitive bone ko eh. "Oh tara na!"
She laughed as a response. "Panis ka mamaya sa akin."
"Yabang nito."
"Bleh!"
I took mine out the garage and then off we go to the peaceful streets of the village. Malapit lang din naman ang open field.
Sabay kaming nagss-skate when I noticed my phone in my pocket. Habang trinatrashtalk ako nitong isang to, I lured her to stop and look at me kaso mas mabilis sya sa flash ng camera ko. "Sige trashtalk ka pa, Bernardo. Ipapadala ko to sa fans mo."
"Subukan mo lang at sasapakin kita mamaya."
"Ang brutal mo talagang babae ka!"
"Tseh!"
Di ko na alam bakit pa ba ako pumayag na lumabas kasama tong bully na to. Akala mo 6 footer kung makabanta saken eh.
Nevertheless, the cold breeze touching my face brought peace. I didn't even catch the last words she said. Why was I so engulfed with my life all these years and forgot there's more to it than work and endless grind?

Huminto sya nung marinig ang click ng cameraphone ko and glared at me. "Did you just take a photo of me without my consent?!!!"
Sakto naman at nabalik ko na sa bulsa agad yung phone ko bago pa nya ako hinarap.
"Wow ang feeling ha! Crush ba kita ha?!"
She scratched her furrowed brow. "Mabuti naman at hindi! Hmp!"
She pushed off the ground and off she went so fast.
