"Maple." Her dad walked to her as she was watching another movie on the TV in the living room. She looked up at her dad but there was her mom also.

"You are graduating soon." Her mom started the conversation but looked at her husband then.

"Where do you want to do your master's degree?" Her dad sat down. She picked up the remote control and paused the movie.

"Not decided yet." She removed her glasses and started cleaning them with her t-shirt.

"How about you move to a different country?" Her mom's words made her freeze.

"What?"

"Your mom is right." He leaned back on the sofa. "You can move right after graduation."

"But isn't the decision too fast??" She almost shouted at her parents. "I still have a few months to graduate."

"We know but...." Her mom sighed and crossed her arms. "We can't stand you being like this."

"What do you mean?"

"Have you seen yourself? You shut yourself the whole time in the house and don't go out. You even stopped contacting Ella and your other friends." Her dad clicked his tongue.

"Ella contacted us a few days ago and talked about your health. The break-up is affecting you too much and everyone has noticed it." Her mom stood in front of the TV, blocking her vision.

She went silent and looked down at her lap.

"It's best to move on right away. You can start applying for a student VISA." Her dad opened his phone. "I know people who can get it done fast."

"You are already good in academics and I'm sure big universities will accept you fast with your qualifications." Her mom walked closer to the girl who was silently staring at her lap the whole time.

"I was thinking of Germany earlier but I need to learn German for that." She sighed and scratched her neck.

"How about South Korea?" Her mom crouched down in front of her.

"What?" She looked at her mom in confusion.

"South Korea." Her mom smiled.

"South Korea? Why is that out of everything? That was not even on my list." She frowned.

"I have relatives living there that may help you when in need. Even my parents live there. You will have connections there." Her mom grabbed her hands.

"But I need time to think, mom." She shook her head. "I can't make the decisions this fast."

"You can take time." Her mom squished her hands. "But you already know Korean from me. Yes, it's not that perfect but it will still help you around. The universities also offer courses for foreign students and you will surely do it fast since you know basic Korean."

"So, that's what happened." Maple sighed after explaining her situation to her best friend.

"I see." Ella looked down at her juice cup while dangling her feet in the water.

The two girls were sitting on the deck above a lake with their feet dipped in the water.

"You think it's best for me to move on?" Maple looked down at the leaf floating on the water's surface.

"I think your parents are right." The ginger-headed girl turned her head to her.

"What?"

"This place has already been a headache for you. Bryan has caused you too much damage. Both physically and mentally. Getting out and moving on from a long-term toxic relationship is not easy."

"But, why can't I just move to different places in Australia rather than moving into a whole continent?" Maple bit her lower lip.

"Won't it be more expensive for your parents?" Maple went silent at Ella's words. "Right?"

"Yes..."

"You want to go to Germany, yes but South Korea is cheaper than Germany. Besides, you already know Korean and you have relatives there who can help you."

"Hmm." Maple looked away and put her elbows on her lap before leaning her chin on her hands.

"It's better to move to a different place. Australia will haunt you if you stay here." Ella put away the empty glass. "It's better to experience a new culture and also, you will be connected to your mom's culture as well."

"That's also true since I don't feel that much connected with my mom's culture." Maple pursed her lips.

"Get a fresh start there. And I'm sure, you will get a high-income job there right after graduating because of how intelligent you are."

"You also think that?" Maple looked at Ella with a frown.

"Of course!!" Ella took out her feet from the water and stood up on the wooden deck. "How can you doubt yourself?? You aced all the subjects and have always remained one of the top students in the university!"

Maple flinched at her sudden outburst.

"I'm sure there are a lot of companies already behind you! You got so much money just from the internship and you are doubting your salary after graduation??" Ella laughed while throwing her hands in the air.

"Okay..." Maple squinted her eyes.

"Girl, I have seen you since we were young and I know you will also easily perfect Korean right away once you reach there."

"You also think South Korea is good?" Maple sat straight and crossed her arms. "Don't tell me you are saying that just because you like K-pop."

"What? Pfft- No!" Ella shook her head. "Yes, I'm into K-Pop but that wasn't my intention. I agree with whatever your mom said about having connections there. What's a better thing than having people you know in a country you are new to?"

"Understood." Maple nodded. "What about you?"

"What about me?" Ella asked with a confused smile.

"Won't you miss me?" Maple asked with a teasing smile.

"Of course, baby. I will!!" Ella whined and got on her knees to hug Maple, who laughed in return. "I will surely come to meet you!"

"I'm sure you will be coming to attend a concert rather than a meeting."

"Hey, that hurt okay?!" Ella pulled away with a glare. "But I'll surely stay at your grandparents' house. I also need to save my money."

"Whatever you say, Ella."
