"Just sit down."
Wonwoo quickly pushed Miran into the room and made her sit on his bed. She just chuckled as she dropped her body on the bed.
"Why are you here?" He crossed his arms as he looked down at her. "Aren't you on bed rest? Why out of nowhere?"
"I wanted to meet you." Her smile still showed weakness which she tried hard to hide by trying to smile as much as possible.
"Miran, you should've just called me!" He frowned and rubbed his forehead. "Why did you just come? You are not even wearing make-up. This clearly shows that you are too weak to move your body."
It was true. Miran never missed applying even basic make-up but she was bare-faced with droopy eyes. Her hands that were on her lap were shaking but she tried to cover them under her shirt.
"I didn't know what to do. I just wanted some fresh air." She closed her eyes and hung her head down. "My house was empty because Isak had gone to her parents for an emergency while the other two had clients to attend in a different city."
He didn't say anything back.
"So, I just booked a cab and came."
"Move your legs up and lay on the bed." He walked to her and bent down to hold her legs before carefully moving them up. "Don't you dare to come down."
Miran didn't say anything. Her energy was too drained out to even move a muscle. She leaned her head back on the wall and closed her eyes.
"Wonwoo?" Mingyu's voice came from outside with a knock. The couple looked at the door and saw Mingyu peeking inside. "Greetings, Park Miran."
"Hello." Miran bowed to the man who bowed back to her but stayed by the door.
"Are you doing well?" Mingyu asked with a worried face. "Do you want to eat something? I can cook."
"I already ate." Miran shook her head and gave him a smile. "Thank you for asking." Mingyu just nodded and walked out.
"She looks like a lifeless human smiling." Mingyu commented on Miran's look as he walked into the room.
"I think her condition got worse." Dino looked at Mingyu who sat on the bed.
"It's clear she overworked herself and didn't look after her own health." Seungkwan crossed his arms. "We have gone through the same situation during our starting times."
"I'm worried about Wonwoo also. He is so worried and is not concentrating at work much." Jeonghan stood up from the bed. "I'm going out to eat."
"Are there more people in the house?" Miran looked at Wonwoo who was moving around to clean his room.
"Jeonghan, Seungkwan and Chan came to meet." As he was speaking, there was a knock on the door. He walked to the and opened it but stood in the doorway, blocking the view.
Miran tilted her head to see who he was talking to. She spotted Jeonghan standing there, talking to Wonwoo. Wonwoo nodded and closed the door.
"It was Jeonghan." He turned to her. "He asked if you wanted to meet them and talk to them to refresh your mind."
"Sure." Miran instantly agreed and removed the blanket from her lap. "But I don't want to meet them bare-faced."
"You still look beautiful."
The amount of times he has called her that may be unknown but whenever it comes out of his mouth, it feels like she was listening to him say that for the first time.
The feeling you get when your boyfriend calls you beautiful for the first time in the relationship. It was the same feeling every time. It never got old.
Especially the way he says it. He always deepened and put pressure on the words, indicating how much he meant them.
"No, I still want to look better." She looked down at her lap. Wonwoo went to the dresser in his room and started collecting products.
"Our skin tone doesn't match but I think the concealer can work." He walked to her as she was sitting on the bed with her legs down. He put the products beside her.
"I just need to look fine." She looked down at his hand as he picked up moisturizer and opened it.
"Whatever you wish, Love." He whispered as he put dots on her face. She stared at his face as he focused on smudging the cream.
"You know, how my heart races whenever you call me that."
He broke into a smile at her confession. He opened the concealer bottle and put the cream over her dark circles.
"I know it." He glanced into her eyes for a moment before going back to focusing on his work. "That's why I do that."
Miran bit her lower lip to control her laugh as he gently rubbing the cream on her face. She closed her eyes to enjoy the feeling of him caressing her skin. He put the bottle down and grabbed the lip gloss.
He grabbed her chin with his thumb and moved her head up. "Open your lips." She did what he told her to and parted her lips.
Wonwoo stared at her lips. Oh how he wanted to just lean down and feel them. Not on his cheek. Not on his skin but on his own lips.
One peck would be enough right?
Just a touch, right?
...no.
Wonwoo gripped the lip gloss tightly before shaking his head and applying it to her lips. He tapped the red tint on her lower lip before moving it away and rubbing it with his thumb.
He let go of her chin. She rubbed her lips together, smudging the tint over her upper lip also. She opened her eyes and watched him walk away to the dresser.
His back was facing her. She looked down at her lap as she moved the blanket away from her lap to get up.
While she was busy, Wonwoo was looking down at his right thumb which was tinted red from the lip gloss.
He brought his thumb to rub on his lower lip and turned around, casually walking to the door without looking at the girl who was searching for her mobile in between the blanket.
Not his lips but his thumb got to feel how her lips felt like.
He was happy.
Happy just by that.
He knew that sooner or later, it would be not his thumb but his lips.
