Chapter 5

"No doubt about it. That's Wendy," Brain said. "The Maiden of the Sky." Selena's eyes widened. Her scent, her canines, and her name. It makes sense now. She's the Sky Dragon Slayer! 

"What? Maiden of the Sky?" Gray asked confused. She cowered behind the rock.

"To think we simply stumbled upon her here. We made quite a find my friends. Grab her!" Brain ordered and the staff reacted by forming a hand that reached behind the rock and grabbed her. She screamed.

"Wendy!" Carla and Happy yelled.

"Unhand her, now!" Carla yelled chasing after it.

"Help me!"

"I'll save ya! As soon as I'm able to catch up!" Happy yelled and Selena growled.

"Striking while we're down, that isn't fair!" Natsu yelled.

"All is fair in money and war!" Hoteye replied and the ground around them lifted up and Selena started to fall. Emma swooped down and picked her up and lightly set her and on the ground.

"Grab my paw!" Carla yelled reaching out to Wendy. Wendy reached out and grabbed a paw, but it was Happy's. "You've got the wrong cat!" They were pulled in and disappeared.

"Wendy!" Carla yelled.

"Happy!" Natsu yelled.

"I have no use for the rest of you. Begone! Dark Rondo!" Attacks came out them from above and Gray quickly covered Selena while Hibiki covered Lucy and Lyon covered Sherry.

"Iron Rock Wall!" Jura yelled coming out of nowhere and forming a rock wall to protect everyone from the attack.

"Great timing!" Selena yelled to him and winced as she gripped her side.

"You're the best wizard ever!" Eve gushed.

"I'll second that," Hibiki said. "We owe you one."

"Yeah, we were almost goners. Thanks a million," Lucy said as Gray stood up and helped Selena up.

"Okay, let's take 'em down!" Natsu said standing up and realizing they were gone. "Huh?"

"They're all gone by now," Gray said.

"What?! We let them get away!"

"They wiped the floor with us," Ren said standing up.

"Well, they're a lot stronger than we are," Eve replied. "We never stood a chance against them."

"The Oracion Seis. What unbelievable power," Lyon said.

"And there are only six of them," Hibiki pointed out. "There magic is much stronger than the rumors suggested."

"Just look at what they did to Christina," Sherry said in a soft voice.

"According to Angel, the woman who peers into minds, they know everything about our mission. We're lucky no lives were lost," Jura said.

"Wait a sec, what about all the people inside?" Lucy asked worriedly.

"Don't worry pretty lady," Hibiki said.

"Christina's equipped with a remote control function so there's no need for a pilot," Eve explained.

"We were gonna climb aboard once we found their base, but as you can see, we never made it that far."

"Oh, good," said Lucy sighing in relief. "That's a relief."

"Glad to see you made it out unscathed," said Lyon to Jura.

"Not quite. In fact, I barely made it out alive."

"You're wounded?"

"Their power terrifies me. I hate to admit it, but if it weren't for sir Ichiya's pain killer parfum, I'd be in utter agony right now."
