Chapter 11

"Well hello. I take it your memory has returned," Zero said smirking.

"Yes."

"You shouldn't have come here," Natsu said standing up. "Jellal!" Natsu yelled running at Jellal and Selena sighed and walked over to them.

"Stop," Jellal ordered hitting them both with fire again. Selena brushed it aside and continued walking til she got to him.

"Did you forget flames don't work on me?!" Natsu yelled.

"Yes, briefly. But I remembered just in time. Only you can stop Zero."

"What?!" Zero exclaimed and Selena looked at Jellal a bit surprised by his words, and then she found offense to them.

"Correct me if I'm wrong, but as a fire Dragon Slayer, doesn't the power of flame amplify your magic?" Natsu looked down at the fire that was on him.

"Yeah, that's true. But why?"

"Liar! Judging by your actions, your memory has not been restored," Zero said.

"I didn't lie to you. Only my memories of Natsu have returned. I'm determined to stop Nirvana. Whether or not the rest of my memories return will not effect my goal."

"I don't get it. What happened to ya?" Natsu asked.

"When I awoke, it was as though my memory had been completely wiped clean." Natsu gasped. "Although I have no recollection of behaving like a vile cretin, it seems that was the case. I've brought harm upon not only you and Erza, but all of Fairy Tail. It's time to make amends. I wanna help you protect Wendy's guild. I want to stop Nirvana. I know we can do it as long as we work together." Natsu lunged forward and punched Jellal in the face.

"I don't believe you! You're saying you forgot everything you did to us?! Quit pretending to be on our side or you'll pay!"

"Natsu, please. Just accept the flames I gave you and move on." Natsu grabbed him by the collar of his jacket.

"You may have forgotten what happened in the past, but the rest of us haven't. I still remember everything. I'll never forget that you made Erza cry!" Jellal looked down sadly.

"Calm down, Natsu," Selena said.

"How pathetic. If you're going to argue, must you do it in front of me!" Zero snapped. "Quit wasting my time." He sent the dark piercing beam at Selena and her eyes widened. Jellal moved out of Natsu's grasp and took the attack in place of Selena. Selena and Natsu's eyes widened in shock and Selena thought of Mystogan. Jellal fell to the ground in pain.

"Why, Jellal?" Natsu asked.

"Just go ahead and kill me if that's what you have to do. I-I'm already battered and torn to shreds. But first, let me give you the power you need to defeat him." A gold flame appeared in the palm of his hand and Selena stared at it in awe. "This is the Flame of Rebuke."

"What's the Flame of Rebuke?" Natsu asked curiously. 

"I'm not asking you to grant me forgiveness. All I want is to give you strength because I believe in you. Erza trust you more than anyone. So, I shall as well." Natsu's reached out to grab the flame and Selena held her hand out to stop him.

"No, Natsu. I'm going to be the one to take down Zero," she said grabbing the flame, letting it engulf her. "Emma, you stay with Natsu and Jellal." She quickly ate the gold flames.

"You've made a grave mistake. By eating the Flame of Rebuke, you now share the sins of your mortal enemy," Zero said and she stood up and faced him.

"I ain't scared of a couple of sins. Everyone in Fairy Tail has them. But you, on the other hand, have made a grave mistake. The one that will be your downfall. You and your gang have hurt my friends. It's time for you to pay," she said lunging at him at an immense speed, her body coated in fire. She punched him in the stomach, causing him to fly upward. She then kicked him in the side, throwing him into the wall. Scales formed on her arms and around her eyes, signaling she was in Dragon Force Mode. He got up and sent the same piercing spell at her. She flicked it causing it to turn upwards and hit the ceiling.
