Chapter 27

*7 Years Later*

Selena laid on the ground under rubble next to Emma and Gray. They were all separated after the roar and lay unconscious. They were shaken awake by Max and Warren.

"What happened? Wait, why do you all look so much older?!" Selena asked as they tackled her in a hug. After getting reunited, they gathered together to listen to what Mavis, the first guild master, had to say.

"When the dragon attacked, I was able to convert the bonds of trust and friendship between your guild mates into pure magic power. Their bonds were so strong that Fairy Sphere was activated. One of the Three Grand Fairy Spells. It is an absolute defense spell, capable of protecting the guild from all manner of evil. Those inside the impenetrable sphere were in a suspended state. It's been seven long years, but the spell has finally been lifted."

"My word," Makarov said with tears of happiness in his eyes as he smiled at Mavis. "To think that we were saved by Fairy Tail's founding Master."

"No, no. I am incorporeal. I used what little energy I had left to convert your bonds into magic power." She started to glow and then she smiled at Makarov. "Your unwavering conviction and your love for one another, they're what brought forth this miracle. You should be proud of the guild you've built. They're wonderful."

Selena and Natsu both kicked the man that was about to hit Romeo with a club. He went flying into the far wall surprising everyone. 

"Who in the hell?!" the other four asked turning around only to be froze, cut, clubbed, and smashed by Gray, Erza, Gajeel, and Makarov. Natsu chuckled.

"Look who's back," he said smiling at everyone.

"Sorry to keep you waiting for so long!" Happy exclaimed and Selena grinned.

"We're gonna need a bigger guild hall than this," Makarov said and Selena nodded.

"No joke," she replied as her and Emma grinned at each other.

"You look so young!" Laki exclaimed while crying.

"You guys look like you haven't aged a day in seven years!" Nab happily cheered.

"Tell us what happened!" Vijeeter said. Makarov started to explain to them what happened and Selena looked at everyone. Macao and Wakaba had grown old and Romeo had gotten older. Romeo now wears a long, dark, sleeveless open jacket with lighter-colored edges, revealing part of his muscular chest and held closed around his waist by a light sash, tied by a knot on his left hip. His legs are covered by loose, light-colored pants reaching down below his knees, paired with low, dark laced boots. Around his neck is a light scarf adorned by a wavy motif, mirroring the one which Igneel  gave Natsu and Selena, but being tied on the front in a large knot.

After Makarov finished explaining, Natsu and Selena looked over at Romeo and grinned as he stared up at them in shock.

"Look at you, Romeo! All grown up!" Natsu said and Selena nodded as tears brimmed Romeo's eyes. He started crying and looked down.

"Everyone, welcome back," he said smiling up at them. "You're home."

Selena walked up to Natsu, Gajeel, Lily, Happy, and Romeo.

"Hey boys. Romeo, it has been nice seein' ya guys, but I figured I'd tell you that I'm leaving to go train for a little bit. After the run in with Acnologia, I need to become stronger. It doesn't help that we've been on Tenrou Island for seven years," Selena muttered the last part. "So Emma and I are leaving."

"What?! Already?" Natsu asked and Selena nodded.

"I left a communication Lacrima with gramps. It'll connect directly to me so you'll be able to get in touch with me if anything happens."
