Chapter 24

"You need to get out of here," Gildarts said in a low, dangerous sounding voice.

"What for?!" Natsu replied. Gildarts' magical energy started radiating off of him.

"That look on Gildarts' face is one of the most intense things I've ever seen," Happy said and Carla agreed.

"Yes, I can definitely agree with that."

"Now, go!" Gildarts ordered as he ran toward Bluenote. The ground beneath Gildarts lifted in the air and turned upside down.

"That's crazy!" Lucy said.

"Gildarts is so cool!" Natsu cheered. Gildarts used his Crash magic to break the rock and he dived towards Bluenote. Bluenote jumped up towards him and their fists collided sending out a massive shock wave throwing everyone back. Selena landed on top of Lucy and groaned.

"Sorry," she said standing up. "I think we should leave this to Gildarts..."

"I'm getting scared. I think we should probably get away from here like he asked us to," Wendy said holding up Makarov.

"Yeah, you're right," Lucy agreed. "Hey, Cana..."

"Let's go. Gildarts can handle it. We'd only get in his way if we hung around."

"Awesome!" Natsu excitedly said as he watched the battle with Lucy pulling on his arm to get him to go. While Lucy was doing that, Wendy attempted at carrying Makarov. "I wanna see this fight so bad!"

"No!" Lucy replied. "We gotta go Natsu! Now!" They started leaving. They headed for the camp that was set up.

"Man, I can't believe we're missin' out on the fight of the century right now!" Natsu said annoyed.

"Sorry, but making sure our friends are okay is more important!" Lucy scolded.

"Yeah, I guess..." Happy said not all that happy about it.

"Hopefully the others have found their way back to base camp," Carla said. "We need to regroup and figure out our next strategy." 

"Don't forget Mest-I mean Doranbolt promised that he'd do his best to help us get off this island," Wendy replied.

"Talk about a leaky vessel." 

Later, the Tenrou tree started to fall. Natsu screamed as they ran.

"What in the heck is going on?!" Natsu yelled as Wendy screamed.

"Please hurry, Carla!" Happy said.

"Quit whining!"

"We all gotta hurry and get back to camp ASAP!" Natsu said and then fell to his knees as his magic power left him. Selena stopped as she stumbled a bit as her magic power left her as well.

"What's happening?! I feel like I just ran out of juice..." Lucy said collapsing to the ground.

"My legs just quit working," Wendy said falling to the ground. "What's wrong with me?" Emma, Carla, and Happy fell.

"My magic power is being drained..." Selena said as she dropped to her knees. She fell to the ground as her magic continued to be drained. Selena's vision became blurry and it felt like everything was spinning. She closed her eyes to try and stop the nauseous feelings. Natsu and everyone else's voices were drowned out as she focused on hearing people from further away to try and figure out what was going on. She could hear a fight going on at the Tenrou tree's base. The magic energy sensed like Erza's and one of the enemy's. It wasn't long til a massive amount of magical energy bared down, shining like a bright light on Erza. "Erza..."
