Saundarya's POV,
Only the slight whiff of the musky smell remained. My eyes were shut at the gut flipping kiss on my jaw. For some reason I just craved for more, more of him, more of his touches, his care, him calling me his lotus. My eyes were shut as hsi warmth lingered, rippling my skin, my body asking for his warmth all the more.
A tear slipped through, I did not know what I would do, he had become like the only person I could depend on myself. I opened my eyes slowly, sighing, not knowing as the harsh punches and blows of bereavement were falling all over my heart. I was hurting. My hand instinctively went to my heart as I clutched my sarre, not knowing what was that, that was hurting, killing me from within.
I looked at the ground to see his silvery white dagger, laying on the ground. I immediately grabbed it and looked out of the window, hoping to see him, but he was gone. For the warriors, weapons were like their second heart, and he had left his favourite, the dagger.
My shoulders slumped in defeat, as I walked away from the window towards the door. Keeping the dagger on my dressing table, I went out to the corridors hoping to find my husband and inform him of his dagger being left.
Will he question my character?
I answered it myself. Never. When he saw me the first day, he told me that he missed me and reflected on his decision. I smiled as I went to his room. As I was going to knock I stood dead in my tracks as the conversation made my vision hazed.
"I want her gone, away from here, her existence to be null...She has already caused enough trouble...Her brother had traded her for arms, I had to stand her....I was EXTREMELY HAPPY when the new of her death came, only to later know that her, that sorcerer, actually was alive, and that Prince, brought her back...Of course she was a burden for everybody...Now, Now, listen to me carefully....Take her to the forest, and finish her off over there, if anybody asks say that she committed suicide..Not being able to digest the news that she wil not be crowned as the queen but Kadambari will.."
"As..you command..Your Majesty..."
I couldn't believe what went through my ears. My hands against my mouth and tears falling through my eyes, I stood there, too astounded to move. I needed to get away from here, before they could find me. But God wasn't on my side. The moment I stepped away, the doors opened. The men ran to catch me, and all I could focus on was the smirk lacing my husband's face. It hadn't even been twenty four hours since I reached here, and I already had death running behind me.
More sobs escaped my mouth, as I ran from all the men, trying to escape all the soldiers, catching me. My mind went back to his words,
"He won't think twice before kicking you out of his life.....he is happier without you.."
He was right. He was right all along. I should have listened to him, but nothing can be done. I deserved this, not listening to him and making these unreasonable wishes, which finally got me into serious trouble. I stopped when men stopped my way from the front. I was surrounded. I shut my eyes. I was powerless, I could do nothing. I couldn't fight back these strongly built men, nor could I ask for mercy.
"Don't...please..."
My lower chin quivered as fear gripped me hard, making my voice shake and cower, sounding weak and defeated. I was hyperventilating and I could almost hear my heart beat.
"AAAHhhhhhhh"
I felt a sharp pain on the back of my head, as I could feel the warmth trickling down my scalp, slowly approaching my neck. Black dots appeared around me, and my eyes rolled back into my head. I felt my knees going weak and a sharp tug on my arm before I fell into deep slumber not knowing what happened next.
* * * * (next day)
I woke up with a throbbing headache, a sharp pain on my injured head, and pulsating wrists. I looked around to find myself deep in the forest. There were a few soldiers surrounding me, and their leader, Commander Bhadrak sitting on one knee in front of me, looking at me questionably. My eyes immediately flung open as he started speaking. I couldn't register what he said, and I looked hither-and-thither, trying to find any help possible.
Tears flowed down my already wet cheeks and I begged him not to kill me. I was scared of death, of blood and of pain. I noticed my hands were tied at my wrists, as I registered his words slowly.
".....can't disobey his majesty..daughter.."
"Please,.....Don't Kill me ... .General ... .What did I ever do wrong to suffer this...Hey Mahadev!!.."
I said, to no-one in particular. My body was writhing and shaking in fear. I could feel my hands turning cold, and my toe curling to feel as distanced as it was possible from him. I burst into tears, as he slowly caressed my hair and said,
"I had always seen you as a daughter of mine ... .Rajkumari, I cannot bring myself to kill you..."
He suddenly stood up and asked his men to follow him. Looking at me he said,
"The road straight leads to the gates of rajputana Kingdom...Kalyan Vastu..[may you be well]"
An echo of claps emerged as men emerged from behind.
"Wow, Commander Bhadrak Wow...Raja Ji was right, trusting you, was a wrong option..that is why he sent me, Commander HariChandan, to deal with traitors like you ... .Old man, Your days are at the brink of end.."
I crawled away from there not wanting to see the apparent bloodshed. As I steadied myself to run away from there, I felt a sharp pain on my knees. I broke down crying. I screamed as the pain slowly hit me. I screamed until my throat turned sore.
My knees had been manually broken and they were hurting raucously, Now I knew why my legs were not tied. I held my legs at the monstrous pain, the only word which escaped my mouth was,
"kun..war..sa.."
Ever so slowly, as I again fell into the pit of darkness, engulfing my sense of feeling and understanding.
I felt a slight whisper before I completely disappeared into nothingness,
"It shall be fun.....Ha Ha Ha..."
