Unrequited feeling

In dreams I sought your presence, oh so dear,

Last night I slumbered, hoping you'd appear.

Awakening to yearn for warmth untold,

Beside me, you're the one my heart does hold.

Dependent now on what I never had,

This curious allure, it drives me mad.

How can such magnetism find its way,

Between two worlds that lay so far astray?

You're but a vision on a silver screen,

Yet through those frames, your beauty can be seen.

The writers, cruel, sometimes take you away,

Though not real, their plots cause me great dismay.

To think of you in pain, it pains me too,

A one-sided love, you don't have a clue.

Innocent, I thought, like times gone before,

But now I find my mind caressing more.

My life feels hollow, empty, incomplete,

Without you, dear, it's hard to find my feet.

Grant me one chance, a moment to adore,

One night together, leave my soul restored.

Just one brief moment, joy without an end,

This unrequited love, I can't pretend.

For in my heart, it burns with fervent fire,

An unattainable, relentless desire.
