Half a Heart

When you were born, God took a part of your heart,

With that half a heart, you played your part.

Twenty-one years passed, and I came to be,

With a half heart too, the start of you and me.

Two souls apart, in different realms we dwell,

Your beauty on a screen, a distant tale to tell.

My youth squandered, gazing from afar,

Our hearts separated, like the moon and a star.

You sought to find one to make your heart whole,

But the missing piece remained, an unfulfilled goal.

I always knew my other half was far from my clutch,

Dreaming of the day, your fingers in my hair would touch.

Your lips upon my face, those three words spoken true,

Your ocean eyes, gazing into my sky so blue.

I long to see your face each morning's light,

To slumber every night, murmuring your name so right.

In your arms, I wish to find my sweet escape,

Our souls entwined, in passion's fervent shape.

I yearn for the missing piece to be near,

For without you, my heart's beat, I fear.

My life's an empty canvas without your grace,

Yearning for the missing half to complete this space.

In the embrace of your love, my heart shall find its song,

Two halves uniting, where we both belong.
