"VIOLET, WHAT ARE WE DOING HERE?" BREE QUESTIONED, HER voice filled with concern, as we strolled amidst the towering trees of the enchanting Longfellow Creek Central Forest. "It's risky to be out in the open like this. We could be easily spotted!"

As the golden hues of the setting sun painted the sky, I had devised a plan to separate Bree from the rest of the newborn army, allowing me to personally train her in the secluded depths of the desolate forest.

"Well, she never explicitly mentioned avoiding the outdoors on cloudy days," I responded, attempting to ease Bree's worries.

Although I refrained from mentioning Victoria's name, Bree understood exactly who I was referring to. Victoria had forbidden the newborns, with the exception of Riley and myself, from ever uttering her name aloud.

In a way, she was like our own twisted version of Voldemort, and we were her Death Eaters.

Bree's concern deepened as she glanced around nervously, her eyes darting from tree to tree. "But Violet, you know how dangerous it is for us to be out here," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the rustling leaves. "Humans could be anywhere, perhaps even close by."

I understood Bree's concerns, but we needed this. Not just for my benefit but for hers too. The forest provided a sense of freedom and tranquility that was hard to find elsewhere.

I reached out and gently placed a hand on Bree's shoulder, trying to offer some reassurance. "I know it's risky," I admitted, my voice filled with determination. "But I believe this is the perfect spot for us to train together."

Bree's eyes flickered with uncertainty, but she nodded in agreement. She trusted me, and she knew that I wouldn't lead her into danger without good reason. Taking a deep breath, she steeled herself and followed me deeper into the forest.

As we moved through the dense undergrowth, the air grew thick with tension. Every snap of a twig or rustle of leaves sent a shiver down our spines. But we pressed on, determined to make the most of this opportunity.

"Keep her safe... If she keeps panicking like that, she won't survive out there." Riley's words from the previous night echoed in my mind.

I knew that Bree was vulnerable, especially as a newborn vampire still adjusting to her newfound abilities. But I was determined to help her harness her strength and become a formidable ally in our fight against the enemy, the one who killed Victoria's first mate.

I had made a promise to Victoria, promising to keep her secret confession locked away within the depths of my conscience. Riley and the others remained oblivious to the truth that burdened my soul.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, we reached a small clearing bathed in dappled sunlight. It was the perfect spot for our training session.

Standing by the creek's edge, my eyes shimmered with determination. I could hear Bree's footsteps gradually drawing nearer, envisioning the curiosity and resolve etched upon her face.

Turning to face Bree, I asked, "Are you prepared for today's lesson, Bree?"

Bree nodded eagerly. "Yes, Violet. I'm eager to absorb all the knowledge I can."

A mischievous smile played on my lips. "Then let's begin. Remember, control is everything. We must blend in with nature, become one with our surroundings."

Bree's focus sharpened, her gaze fixed on my every movement as we ventured into the shallow waters of the creek. The gentle sound of flowing water enveloped us, creating a serene ambiance. I took a deep breath, inhaling the crisp scent of the forest. The sound of birds chirping and leaves rustling in the gentle breeze filled the air. The grim sunlight filtered through the canopy of trees, casting dappled shadows on the water's surface. I could feel the coolness of the creek against my skin as we waded deeper, the sensation heightening my senses.
