We finally reached the place.
I got down from the car, as I waited for her to come out as well.
The Lake, situated amidst the lush green trees.
My escape place, away from the choas that the city of Nagpur offers.
It has a distict serenity.
And the fact that it has no visitors as such, making it a quite, secluded place makes it much more appealing to me.
The spot was perfect.
So was the atmosphere and so was my companion. It was nearly 3:30 pm.
The evening setting in perfectly over the tall trees. The coolness radiating from the water, adding to the calmness that surrounded the place.
She came out.
I saw her absorb in into the calmness as she held her arms around her small figure, her eyes closed as she breathed into the fresh air.
I stared at her without blinking. As she slowly opened her eyes, she turned to give me a big smile.
"This is so perfect! ", she exclaimed.
" It actually is! ", I said as I walked a bit over the bed of the lake and sat there, motioning her to join me as well.
She came and was about to sit but I kept my handkerchief beneath.
Can't let her clothes to get spoilt now.
Can I? No.
She smiled as she settled over.
I stared at the horizons.
I visited the lake when I felt like.
It was actually an escape place, a place I would turn to when I needed some me time.
And now, it felt better .
It felt better to have her beside me."So.. This is your place! ", she said it as a statement.
" My place? ", I knew what she was implying to but still.
" A place you turn up to when you feel like having a talk with your own self. ", she said as she continued looking in front.
" Yeah! ", I agreed. It was after all." Do you have a place of yours, like this too? ", I questioned.
" Yeah! ", she yelped a bit.I wish I'll someday get to see her place as well.
" It's near my village. . Maybe someday, I'll show you! ", she said.
I nodded.
Yeah, she too thought of showing me her escape place, what can be better than that." So, you come from a village? ", I wanted the conversation to go on. Not getting anything else to ask I asked this.
" Huh! Don't I look like I do! ", she said.
" Huh?.. "
"My classmates say that I look like how typical village people look like. You know.. Kinda.. So.. ", she explained.
Wait a minute! She sound offended. Did I just! What the fuck Kartik!" Hey! I.. I don't know what they mean. But all I meant was, you look pretty.. ", shit Kartik, sach bolna tha, par itna bhi sach nahi.
(Supposed to tell the truth, but not this much of a truth.)" Pretty intelligent! ", I completed it, in order not to make it awkward for her.
She chuckled, as she turned to me.
" I didn't mean to offend you! ", I sincerely confessed.
" And why would it offend me! I am not at all offended. ", she said.
" Woh.. The question about you being from a village..
"Chill.. You don't need to explain, I love it when people say that I actually look like a villager, that reminds me of how long of a journey I have tranversed by now, it keeps me rooted. ", she replied.
She is so simple. And so exquisite, all at the same time.
" I actually just wanted to ask you about your village, but nevertheless, so which attempt? ", I asked her changing the direction of the conversation.
She looks like she cracked it in her first attempt.
Like, she is so young. So innocent.
" First! ", yeah, there she confirmed.
" Wow! That's amazing. ", I completely turned myself to face her.
" That's so amazing, Shri! Cracking an exam like NEET in the first attempt. Commendable! ", I was all happy and proud.
My girl is amazing.
She smiled.
Wait. A. Minute.
Did I just called her Shri?
I did!
I love her smile.
