If the bustle around the hospital was eye catching, then the noisy voices inside the hospital was something that surely drew attention.
In all this hustle- bustle, passing through the long corridors let to the Lower Operation theatre.

Inside, were the OT rooms, with people in scrubs walking around having some or the other work in their hands.
Nurses, Helper staff, Surgeons all were lost in their busy world.

Talking about the minor OT, the lights were one, clearly indicating the ongoing surgical procedure there.
"Sister! ", A voice boomed in the OT, making the sister come to terms that the surgeon were done with the procedure and were asking for Items to clean as the suturing was done.
" Yes, Kartik? ", the sister questioned looking at the tall stature of the Junior Resident.
" Betadine and Gauze, please! ", the surgeon, asked in his jolly tone.
His voice not having any traces of the days hecticness.
" Here! ", the sister handed him the needful as he completed the procedure.

Tapping lightly on the patient, he woke him up as he said, showing the small mass of tissue, " Yeh tha aapke shoulder pe. Nikal diya gaya hai! "
(This was on your shoulder, it's removed now!)

The patient smiled at the doctor and slowly made his exit from there.
Just then the door of the minor OT room opened, drawing the man's attention.
"Kartik, how many surgeries more? ", Dr. Riyaaz, the Senior Resident questioned.
" Just one more for the day, sir! ", Kartik replied in his modulated tone.
" Okay! ", the senior resident, acknowledged as he further questioned, " Where's Ashwin? ".

" He went to get the patient, sir! ", Kartik further conveyed as he removed his gloves and threw them in the yellow bin.

With that the Senior Resident left from there, while Dr. Kartik began instructing the nurse about the needed items for the next surgery.

The glorious personality that radiated warmth and love was Dr. Kartik Nayak, a 26 year old, charming young man.
Junior Resident in general surgery.
A man of nearly 6'0 height, clad in the green scrub, revealing just his light stubble and those chestnut coloured eyes, those too covered behind the metallic black sleek frame of spectacles.

The next surgery continued for nearly thirty more minutes, till the two Junior Residents, that's Kartik and Ashwin were finally free for the day.
Pulling the gloves down and throwing them in the bin, both of them proceeded to wash their hands.

It was nearly after an hour of so, that they both made their way out.
There postures indicating the tiredness of the day.
"Kartik, dinner bahar kare? ", Ashwin asked.
(Kartik, let's have dinner outside? )

" Nahi yaar, aaj nahi. I just want to go and sleep now. ", Kartik replied in a tired tone.
(No Yaar, not today! ")

Ashwin just shrugged knowing that he also needed sleep.
Just then they met the other two of their colleagues.
Aftab and Sasha, who were the other Junior Residents in General Surgery.
"Hi! ", Kartik greeted them both, with his ever charming smile.
" Guys, let's go out for coffee. Seems like we all are free right now! ", Sasha said in an excited tone.
Ashwin just shrugged his shoulders as he pointed towards Kartik.
They all looked towards Kartik, with eyes conveying the need to hear an yes from him.
" Aaj nahi yaar! Phir kabhi chalenge. Or rather, tum log chalo. ", Kartik replied.
" Yaar, Kartik, chal na! ", Sasha tried.
(Not today, we'll go some other day. Or rather you guys go. )
( Dude, Kartik, come na! )

But, yeah! It didn't work.
Kartik walked down the lane, to his car.
Settling inside, he relaxed his muscles a bit as he started the car, driving back to his apartment.

After a journey of 15-20 minutes he finally reached his place.
Parking the car, he got down, his messenger bag hanging on his left shoulder as he walked to his wing, taking the stairs, when his phone rang.
He pulled his phone out lazily, as he looked at the dialer.
It was Dr. Riyaaz, his SR.
He quickly picked it up and greeted.
"Kartik, Bed No. 12 is scheduled for tomorrow or day after? ", The SR questioned.
" Sir, The Ward 111 wala? ", Kartik questioned.
" Yes, Yes! "
"Sir he is Dr. Jayden Sir's patient. Since Sir isn't available for tomorrow, so the surgery is on day after tomorrow. ", Kartik informed after a brief moment of thinking.

" Acha, it seems he got flu like symptoms. He is Jayden Sir's patient na? "
"Yes, Sir! ", Kartik promptly replied.
" Acha. I'll inform sir about it. We'll see what to do! ", The SR informed.
" Okay sir! "
"Bye! " Was what Kartik heard before the call went off.
He released a sigh as he continued walking to his apartment.

Just as he was climbing the stairs he came across the bunch of kids who were out to play.

Kartik used to stay in "Leverage Greenleaf ", a luxury society of Nagpur.
Kartik himself didn't wanted to much to say, but he did came from a very well to do family, moreover, he earned well as well. And the society was comfortable, so it didn't seem a problem to him.
And the view from his apartment was heartwarming too.

As Kartik watched the kids with the bats and balls, all ready for the night cricket match, he couldn't help but feel jealous.
"Kartik bhaiya!! ", the kids called him up.
He too waved and hified with them, a bright smile loitering on his face.
" Bhaiya khelne chalo! ", one of the kid advocated.
(Bhaiya, come to play)

" Aaj nahi baccho! "Kartik denied.
(Not today kids)

" Koi na! Tum logo khelo! And char- panch sixers humare wing mei bhi mar lena thik hai! ", he motivated the kids who giggled.
(No worries, you guys play. And hit few sixers in our wing too, okay! )

After sharing a few more of the greetings he continued his walk to his apartment.
Pressing the digits, the door opened, revealing the apartment, that never felt like home.
Kartik entered inside, letting the loneliness inside the four walls seep inside him.
He placed his bag on the table as he slumped on the sofa.
Laying their lazily. Minutes passed as he layed on the sofa, his eyes closed, as the tiredness took over his body.

After minutes, he finally woke up, getting up, he removed his sandals, slipping into the chappals he walked to the closet.

Picking up the towel he went inside the bathroom.
The warm water running over his well built figure, he let the warmness of the water soak him, relaxing his tensed muscles.

After a good shower, he finally felt relieved, he wrapped the towel around his lowers, after wiping himself.
He walked out.
A few droplets trickling down, as he got into his comfortable wear.

Taking few minutes there, as his tiredness was all away, he walked to the kitchen.
A sigh released, from his mouth. He hated the food, that was so cold.
Nevertheless, his growling stomach needed it, so he heated it.

Settling on the bean bag, he started with his dinner, as he watched the not so interesting ipl match.
