Reason

“Mom, I'm really fine like for real. Everything is just normal.”

“No! We're going for checkup today!” my mom insisted and I just sighs because she already walked away to prepare herself.

“Sup bro? Come on, just let mom,” my noona comforted me. “She just care a lot about you. She loves you a lot— like a lot!”

“I know,” I breathe out. "I just hope she won't overreact like that."

"Hey Kang Taehyun," she called me out and even put down her iPad to face me. "You didn't know how devastated mom when you got into accident. She has every right to overreact."

"I'm sorry," I quickly apologize. "With that, about the friend I used to know back then. Have you reached him?" I asked.

"Secretary Yoon is still looking for him. Some says he's out of the country because he's working as a pilot," she answers and holds her iPad again.

I pouted upon hearing it. I'm jealous. Maybe most of my batch mates are already professionals and here I am, still stuck at being eighteen.

That's when I realized what Dr. Kai said; living again means another reason to enjoy what I've lost. Right! Why would I sulk if I can enjoy?

"By the way, how was your new hobby in the XXX District?" noona asks.

I just shrugged my shoulders, "I don't even wanna think about it... I don't want to come back in there," I added.

"Why not? Hates kid?"

"More on I hate my colleague?"

She bursts in laughter, "Hey, that's how workplace is. You shouldn't be swayed by those. If you like what you're doing just let the others be," she stated.

I annoyingly close my eyes and rested my head on the sofa. "But still..." I murmured.  "He hates me."

My mom took me to HYBE Medical University for my checkup. My dad became a major shareholder of this hospital after the election that happened a year ago— which they said was a total mess.

"Just tell Dr. Jeon about everything, okay? I'll be seeing Director Lee. I'll be back, okay?" my mom instructed me before she kisses my forehead and left me.

I knock on the door before entering and saw Dr. Jeon smiling while looking at his phone. "Am I right with what I smell right now?" I said.

"Huh? What smell?" Dr. Jeon confusedly asks and put his phone down.

"A smell of a lover man?"

He laughs at me and stands up. "Keen nose, huh?" he shoots back and we both laugh. "Take a seat," he offered. I did what he said and he also did as well at the center seat. “You were at a trip, right? How was it?”

“It was odd...”

“Tell me about it,” he said and looks interested.

“Since I got in there, some memories started flashing across my mind and then I'll pass out,” I shared.

Dr. Jeon nods, "I see. What else?"

"I hear different voices and my head hurts so badly. But when I came back in here, I don't feel anything— like I can't have those flashbacks," I stated.

"Oh," he reacted. "You should get back in there then."

"Yes?"

"Well, if you really want to look back about what happened l to you five years ago then you should go back in there. It is because your surroundings affect you a lot and you stayed at your house since you wake up. That's one of the reasons why your memories are slowly coming back," he stated and smiles.
