Chapter 51: Aviary

Aviary

“Teacher Tyun will be at the front to dance, okay? Fighting little ones!”

The parade started with the district’s current politicians. I was busy preparing with the kids as well. My mom was here as well and I got acknowledge as her son which means the villagers know who really I am now. Not that it really matters though.

But what’s really between me and my mom?

Anyway, the program happened as how it should be. The kids performed while I was guiding them. Beomgyu hyung was busy as well keeping things at peace and organized together with the village’s chairperson.

“Whoa, I’m knocked out,” I breathe out and briefly close my eyes. I look at the stage nearby and the people really like the band that’s performing.

Later, they will open the aviary and let hundreds of butterflies out after taking care of them and reproducing them. Tourists will also flock in here because of it.

“Ah, excuse me?”

I turn around and see a tall man wearing a denim jacket, white inner shirt, and denim jeans. “Yes?”

“I’m sorry for inconvenience but do you know Choi Beomgyu?” he asks.

Beomgyu hyung? Who’s this?

“Why, sir?” I ask politely.

“I’m his friend… He invited me to celebrate the festival,” he smiles at me. “Where can I find him?”

“May I know who you are?”

“I’m… Choi Soobin,” he introduced.

Choi Soobin? Beomgyu hyung’s ex? Ah, so he’s Choi Soobin? I look at him from head to toe and nods at myself. Well, he’s not bad. But I didn’t know he’s hyung’s style.

“Well…” I paused when I saw hyung walking towards our direction. “He’s behind you,” I said.

That Choi Soobin turns around and I witnessed how hyung smiles from ear to ear which I usually see when he’s teaching the kids. What the? Why does he smiles so much? Tsk.

“Wow! It’s been a while, punk!” Choi Soobin reacted as soon as Beomgyu hyung’s already close.

“You missed me now, huh?” Hyung teases him— hopefully, that’s it.

“Of course! I really missed you, Beomgyu. Can you give hyung a hug?”

I quickly frown at it. Hey! Is that even okay to do that with your ex? Whoa! I can’t believe them. I rolled my eyes and just turn my back. It’s so annoying.

“Yuck,” I heard hyung reacted and they both laugh. “Hey! Taehyun!” he shouted my name so I pause and look back at them.

They both move closer to me, “Soobin this is Kang Taehyun and Taehyun this is Soobin, a close friend,” hyung introduced us.

I lower my head for second and smiles, “Nice to meet you, I’m Kang Taehyun. I also teach at the children’s home,” I introduced.

“Taehyun?” he repeated. “Why does it sound familiar?” he though and look at Beomgyu hyung. “Did we have a classmate before named Kang Taehyun?”

He can’t remember it well too.

Hyung shakes his head, “None,” and he smiles.

“Oh,” Soobin nods and smiles at me. “I’m sorry. I’m Choi Soobin, I work at police department. Just call me hyung,” he introduced as well and he offered his hand that I gladly accept.
