“There’s none. There’s none about me and Woo Hyun in here.”
I frustratedly run my hair through my fingers and sat on the floor of the attic after looking about my highschool stuffs. My mom probably throws everything that will remind me of Woo Hyun.
Damn it.
I lean against the old shelf and dragged the beige-colored box that’s beside me and open it. I grab Beomgyu hyung’s picture that I took secretly from his place.
“Who was with you at this time, huh? Taehyun? That Kang Taehyun? But why isn’t he in here? Was he even real?”
I have a lot of questions running on my mind but I can’t narrow them all down. Everything’s complicated. My phone suddenly rings so I look who’s calling and it’s Beomgyu hyung so I picked it up right away.
“Yes… hyung?”
(Should I pick you up in there? The kids miss you a lot.)
“It’s fine,” I chuckles. “Mr. Lim will take me there. Do you want me to buy something?”
(No need… I just need you in here right away….)
“I’ll be there, hyung… See you in a bit.”
I ended the call after more talks and I breathe out. “I’m sorry, hyung… For lying and everything.”
Few hours after that, I arrived at the district. Beomgyu hyung was quick to hug me even if Kazi’s watching us who already knew what’s happening so we just laugh at it.
“Hyung!” Jaechan’s voice called me.
“Hello kiddo! How are you? How’s school, huh?” I asked him and Beomgyu hyung gestured me that he’ll go back to the building.
Jaechan and I went to the convenient store to treat him some ramen that he likes to eat. “I’m fine, hyung. You don’t need to worry about him. How about you? Are you okay?”
“Whoa, you just ask as if we’re at the same age,” I laugh. “Well, I’m still struggling.”
“With what? Your memories? Why? They aren’t coming back yet?” he asked again.
“Some are… some are still confusing,” I sigh. “I envy you for having memories,” I smiles and ruffles his hair.
“It’s so weird seeing you smile,” he suddenly stated before slurping his food.
“Yeah?”
“Nothing,” he takes back. “I’m also curious, what’s taking it so long to comeback,” he said.
“I’m not sure too,” I sighs again and leans on the chair. “I’m dying to know what really happened before.”
“Can you even handle it?”
“Hey, you just sounded again like we’re the same age. Who are you, huh?” I scolded him and he just gave me his silly smiles. “Jaechan,” I called him and he look at me. “Do you think… there are angels who makes people’s wish come true?”
Jaechan went silent for seconds; he put down his chopsticks, and then looks at me. “They do exist, hyung,” he answered. “But those angels who grant wishes can either be real angels from heaven or just ordinary humans like us who got contracted to the Deity and being an angel became one of their conditions.”
Did Jaechan really answer that? Did he really answer me something like that?
“That’s what my grandmother told me, I don’t really know if those are true,” he added while shrugging his shoulders. “How about you? Do you believe in those? My halmeoni also said that if you believe in Deity then you believe angels exist.”
