Chapter 9
Selena's POV
As I predicted Jason woke up two hours later and he was hungry, which was a good sign. Maybe it was a 24 hour bug?
"What do you want to eat?" I asked him, stroking his blonde hair.
"Can I have mac and cheese?" He asked.
"Sure." I agreed.
"Do you want to come down with me or stay here?"
"With you."
I nodded and took his hand as he hopped off the bed.
He walked into the living room and put on spongebob so I left him and went to make his lunch.
Once it was finished I fed him, which was a rare occurrence ever since he decided he was a 'big' boy.
I placed his bowl in the sink and was about to put the rest of the macaroni in the fridge when he stopped me.
"Justin might be hungry too." He said, nodding his head up and down cutely.
"He's sleeping."
"Well you should wake him up. If not and he's hungry his tummy will hurt. Grandma said so."
"Okay, you can go wake him up if you want."
He grinned and ran out the room.
Glad he's feeling better, now it's just Justin.
I transferred the macaroni over into a bowl and placed a spoon in, making my way back up.
"Are you hungry? 'Cause Mommy made mac and cheese and she's bringing some for you so your tummy doesn't hurt." I heard Jason's animated voice.
How that boy had so much energy? I would always wonder.
I walked in the room. "He insisted you eat now or else your stomach would hurt. My mom told him something along those lines I guess."
He nodded and sat up a little bit, leaning against the headboard.
I passed him the bowl and sat on the bed as well, on the opposite side.
But Jason had other plans.
"What are you doing?!" He screeched when Justin was about to put a spoonful into his mouth.
"Uh eating?"
"No no no. Mommy is supposed to feed you, like she did with me?"
"Baby, Justin's an adult, he can feed himself." I told him.
"B-but....he's sick so you should feed him. I was watching a movie with Aunt Tay once when you were busy and the lady was feeding the guy because he was sick." He explained.
What the hell did Taylor let him watch?
"Uhh..." I tried to think of another excuse but the way he was looking at me - like I did something wrong- made me give in.
"Fine, I'll feed him."
He smiled and moved to my other side so I could sit next to Justin.
I awkwardly shuffled next to him and took the bowl from his hands. Picking back up some in the spoon, I held it up in front his face.
He ate it and we went on like that in a while, Jason quite content.
I held up another spoonful but he placed his warm hand over mine, stopping me.
"I don't want anymore."
I nodded and got off the bed quietly, taking it to the kitchen.
I placed everything that was dirty in the dishwasher and went back up.
"Mommy, can I have a bubble bath?"
"Sure. I'll go put it to fill." I went into our bathroom and turned on the water then walked back out and went into Jason's room to get clothes for him and a towel.
By the time I got back the water was filled so I poured some body wash into it and moved my hand around so it would bubble.
"You ready Jase?" I called out and he ran into the bathroom.
I took off his clothes, tossing it in the hamper then placed him into the water.
He was back to his normal temperature thankfully but I didn't want to risk it so I washed him up quickly. I was about to take him out when Justin ran into the room and knelt over the toilet, proceeding to throw up everything he just ate. I went over to him, rubbing his back like I had done to Jason the previous night.
When he was finished, I flushed the toilet and helped him over to the sink before going back over to Jason.
I took him out then quickly changed him.
When we walked out the bathroom, Justin was back asleep, clutching his stomach.
I left the room with Jason and we went downstairs. I put on a Scooby Doo movie for him and called Taylor.

A little while later Justin came out of the room with a blanket wrapped around him and sat on the same couch as me, opposite end.
"You okay?" I asked.
"Yeah."
He leaned back against the couch then leaned forward, clutched his stomach and closed his eyes, taking deep breaths.
"Is your stomach hurting still?"
He nodded. "I threw up a few more times."
Huh. I guess I didn't hear him.
"Put your head in my lap." I told him quietly, glancing at Jason whose focus was on the TV.
He slowly did so curling up slightly. I draped the blanket over him and slipped my right hand under it, rubbing circles on his stomach.
Eventually I felt his muscles relax.
"My mom used to do that." He mumbled with his eyes closed.
"What?"
"Whenever my stomach used to hurt, she would do exactly what you're doing and play with my hair so I'd fall asleep."
"Oh." I said, shocked that he was actually telling me something about his mom.
I started playing with his hair, which was really soft especially for a guy and he let out a breath.
"She would have loved you."
I didn't know what to say and thankfully I didn't have to say anything because soon enough he was fast asleep.
But as I looked at him I realized my mom was right.
This marriage was a good thing.
Jason loved Justin already and by the looks of things the feeling was mutual. Maybe he would get a dad after all.
And Justin wasn't as bad as I thought he was.
Maybe, just maybe, this marriage could work.
But I refused to get ahead of myself. My heart would not be broken again.
