Chapter 1
Selena's POV
"Mommy why are we moving?" My five year old son Jason asked me as we walked through the airport.
I thought about what to tell him.
I couldn't tell him that we were moving because my parents used us -me- as a business transaction but that was the truth.
My dad's company wasn't doing so good and he took a loan from Bieber and Co. Now he can't afford to pay them back so what does he do?
Agrees to get his daughter married to their son as a way of merging the companies. If not, the entire Gomez family goes to jail.
So I have no choice than to pack up and move to New York.
"I figured it'd be a nice experience for us." I told him instead.
I didn't want to tell him I was getting married just yet.
I was afraid of his reaction honestly.
He seemed satisfied with my answer as he didn't say anything after that.
We got onto the private jet that was waiting for us.
The flight over wasn't bad, mainly because we both slept.
It was around 9 p.m. when we got to the airport. All our luggage had been sent up front so that it would be waiting for us and the new house.
I got off the plane, holding a sleeping Jason in my arms and looked around seeing a man in a suit holding a sign with my name on it.
I walked over to him.
"Are you Selena Gomez?"
"I am." I nodded.
"Follow me."
He led me over to a limo, holding the door open for me.
"Thank you."
He didn't respond, instead he went to the driver's seat and we were on our way.
Lovely, Mr. Whatever-his-name-is didn't even have the manners to come get us himself.
After a half hour journey we pulled up to a tall building.
I got out the car, Jason still in my arms and followed the man to the front desk.
He told the receptionist something and she nodded, giving him a key card, which was passed onto me.
"You're going to the penthouse." He told me. I opened my mouth to thank him but he walked off.
I grumbled to myself. Were all New Yorkers this rude or was it just him?
Feeling tired, I walked over to the elevator and flashed the card, selecting the penthouse button.
I leaned against the door, closing my eyes. I just wanted to have a normal life. I was happy. Why did my parents have to ruin everything?
Hearing the ding of the elevator, I opened my eyes to see that the doors had opened into what looked like the living room.
I looked at the key card and notice that it had PENTHOUSE written on it which meant that a special card was need for anyone to come here. That made me feel slightly safer.
I stepped into the room, looking around. I wasn't sure where to go so I just held Jason tighter, cradling him to me.
I looked at room seeing the bland decor. The walls were white, the ground was covered in black tiles and the couch set was white. There was a glass coffee table in the center of the couches and a huge flat screen television.
That was it. Like I said it was bland, obviously no one was in here a lot.
Just then a man walked into the room.
"You must be the girl I'm marrying. Selena is it?"
"Yes, and you are?"
"Justin Bieber."
I nodded in response, the atmosphere tense and awkward.
"If you're going to be living here there will be some rules. We will discuss them in the morning however, seeing as you just came from a long flight." He spoke professionally.
I nodded again.
"I'll show you where you're staying tonight."
I followed him down the hall, then up some stairs. He opened the door to the second room.
"You'll stay here for the night."
"Okay, thank you."
"Yeah." He then left. I looked around the room. It was blue and was carpeted in white. It had a nice window-still and the window overlooked the busy city of New York.
I walked over to the king-sized bed located at the middle of the room, the back against the wall. I laid Jason down and went into the bathroom.
The bathroom was almost as big as the room.
It had a marble sink and the shower was huge. In the corner of the room it had a bath tub the size of a Jacuzzi.
I walked back out and went over to the closet.
It was a walk in. None of our clothes was there yet. Then I remembered Justin had said that we were staying here for tonight.
Maybe he meant tonight only.
I walked out and closed the door, walking over to the window.
I looked at the city lights, all shining brightly. If I opened the window, I was positive I would hear the sounds of everything taking place below me.
After all New York is the city that never sleeps.
I felt something wet run down my cheek and realized I was crying. I missed home. I missed my friends.
I knew my life was going to do a full 360 but I had no idea if I was ready for that.
It was me and my son against the world now.
I was getting married to a man I knew nothing about.
I always thought that when I would walk down the aisle, the love if my life would be waiting for me at the altar.
He would look at me like I was the only girl in the world.
It would be special.
Look how wrong I was.
But it was only for a year.
After that we would both go our separate ways.
But could we live like strangers for an entire year?
What if Jason gets attached to him?
What if he treats Jason badly?
What if he has a mistress?
And that was how I fell asleep.
